My husband has plenty of tools, but I like to keep my own set of things that I use. I already had a tape measure but decided that the ability to use the laser measure would be great. I have to admit that this has more features than I know how to use and that to really get the full advantages of it, I need to study the instructions. It appears to be able to calculate both the square feet and cubic feet from laser measurements if I take the time to learn to use those features.In the meantime, I am happy that I can get a quick distance measurement with the laser, and I also really appreciate that the tape has magnets so that I can measure longer distances myself without assistance as long as there is a metal surface to attach the magnet. I also really appreciate that it is rechargeable using a standard USB-C charger.

Tldr: For the price, it’s the perfect combination of measuring tools.Narrative:As an average person, I feel like I only use a measuring tape about once every month. If I put on a different hat, and transition into a moderate level of woodworker, I’m reaching for a tape measure about every five minutes. From those two perspectives, I think this tape measure/laser rangefinder has a pretty good niche.The downside of any tape measure, is that if the distance is greater than the stand out of the tape measure (about 5 feet for this guy), you are pretty much just guessing what the range is. You are also introducing lots of sources of error, including the actual bow of the tape, which can add enough error that your cuts of wood will be completely off. This device seemed to combine two tools, so they complement each other greatly.The laser rangefinder is accurate up to 100 m, within 2 mm, which is more than any average person is going to need for a device like this. I accidentally found a use for, when trying to measure our home office for tax purposes. I was able to quickly get a read of the room, and measure distances that a tape measure be inappropriate for. I then went back and verified the two distances with the tape, and instantly appreciated how fast the laser rangefinder was versus using the tape.Pros:-because they’re combined, you can get away with just having this device, and being able to rapidly measure most rooms in the house.-the fact that you have the tape measure, and rangefinder combined, means you can rapidly laser off a distance, then go and measure a cut of wood with the same device.Cons:- I think if the tape measure didn’t have the laser rangefinder, it would probably be worth about nine dollars. I have an assortment of tape measures, and this is certainly not the first one I would reach for. There is also the compromise that it is inches and centimeters, which becomes slightly annoying if you were trying to do a project all in imperial, or metric.Overall: This device is trying to do it all, and for its niche and price point I think it is a home run. The fact that you can carry one thing, get accurate ranges out to 100 m, and be able to technically do an entire home improvement project with one measuring device is pretty nice. There are tools that do each one of these functions separately better, but if you’re looking for an every day carry measuring device, I think this one is perfect.

⭐This MILESEEY laser tape measure is disappointing. While it measures, the laser level doesn't work as expected, making it unreliable for precise measurements. The features seem great, but the functionality is lacking, especially when it comes to the laser component. Would not recommend based on my experience.
