The included instruction manual (one sheet) is a joke. I has no information on assembling or operating the mini chainsaw and make no mention of chain-bar oil. Other reviewers have differing recommendation from diluting the chain-bar oil to not leaving oil in the unit because it will leak. The unit is electric (obviously) and does not have the customary clutch drive of a gas powered chain saw. So when I unpacked the unit I was unable to move the chain by hand to verify that it is free to move. The unit came with the 4" chain bar and chain installed. I disassembled it to familiarize myself with its construction and make sure that I can reassemble it. I added straight chain-bar oil to the reservoir and screwed the see through cap back on.I charged the battery and then used the unit to cut up a number of 2" and 3" thick fallen branches and found the saw easy to use and made quick work of the cleanup. The mini chainsaw is much easier to use then my manual hand saw requiring much less effort. When I was done with cutting, I removed the battery and placed the saw back in the box. The next day I removed the chain and chain-bar and examined the chain. There is a small amount of chain-bar oil on the chain but is not excessive. And I see a small accumulation of oil soaked sawdust on the bar and plastic housing. While examining the saw body without the chain bar installed I see an oil feed hole that aligns with the chain bar oil port to supply oil to the chain bar. The see-through cap of the oil reservoir is not ridged plastic and when pressed will force oil out the oiling port.My recommendation is that you depress the reservoir cap once lightly while running the saw before your first cut to oil the chain and chain-bar before cutting any wood. Again, the "manual" is silent on oiling and you should explore how often and how much you should press the reservoir cap while using the saw.Remember that without the noise and vibration of an idling gas operated chain saw, this is a serious tool that can do serious damage to hands and body parts so don't forget that while you work.

One star off for pricing Tomfoolery. When ordered 2/20/25 it was 32 bucks and now (3/13/25) it’s 27. About a year ago I got a very similar model with two batteries that went for $60-something, so a decent deal relative to that. Another star off for instructions lacking needed information about the oil feature. Since there are a couple real live chainsaws around here, there’s also a big ol jug of bar oil, so I know what to use, but others may not and might be tempted to throw in some engine oil. Better than nothing, but the lower viscosity means it will get flung all over the place. No bueno.Kudos for the inclusion of the oiler feature. It doesn’t hold much at all so frequent refills is the name of the game. Not as big a deal since you’ll have to stop and recharge around the same time, but if you’re running with several batteries, best to top up at each swap.First several uses were with the longer bar and chain. Not sure how much force the plastic body can hold, but with moderate tightening of the slack adjuster, it vibrates loose after just a few cuts, resulting in a loose chain and increasingly unsafe conditions.I’m a righty (handed) for many things, but if you’re a lefty, this isn’t built with you in mind. It can still used by skooching your plan up the handle to depress the safety switch, but that leaves you with an awkward hand position that probably isn’t the safest and likely means you’ll fatigue more quickly. One last irksome thing that should be cleaned up is how this is marketed. “Gifts for Men Dad Husband”! Excuse me?!?

This is my first mini chainsaw and I have mixed feelings about it overall. A few specific thoughts:Power: This saw was able to make fairly quick work of some 2-3" thick saplings. An added bonus was that the short blade made it easy to get in close to some large roots that were surrounding the saplings without damaging the bigger trees. The only major drawback that I encountered was the battery life. After 6-8 cuts to the saplings as well as some smaller branches the battery suddenly went from four bars to zero bars and had to be recharged. I wish that this came with two batteries, but as long as it's only used for small jobs, the battery life shouldn't be a major issue.Instructions: Unfortunately, the instructions for this saw are EXTREMELY lacking. By lacking, I mean that they essentially don't exist. The good news is that there are plenty of videos online that explain how to oil a chain and it's very easy to figure out how to tighten or remove the chain, etc. It's worth noting that the clear plastic "primer" is meant to pump a little oil onto the blade, so you will need to purchase some bar and chain oil, fill up the reservoir, put the cap back on, and then press the clear plastic "bubble" a few times while running the saw to oil the blade.Quality: For a cheap mini chainsaw, the quality seems decent. The inclusion of a 6" bar (in addition to the 4" bar that is on the saw by default) is nice. The package includes a small oil bottle that seems pointless since there is an oil distribution mechanism built into the saw and a screwdriver used to adjust chain tension (you will find the screw for this next to the saw blade).Overall, this is a decent little saw for small jobs.
