My son gave me one of those mini Solo Stove Mesa fire pits. It needed mini wood logs to burn, so I needed a mini chain saw to cut them. I was looking for something to cut firewood for camping and I checked out the Makita mini chainsaw trimmer which was like $150. Then I saw this saw which uses Makita batteries for $29 with free returns. Seemed like a no brainer. It came today, assembled it (you have to put the chain and chain bar on), and I cut up some bagged fire wood. It cut fine. The chain kept loosening up on the first few cuts, but I think that’s normal. Works fine with my Makita batteries. It has a carry case, 2 chains, a tiny chain oil bottle, some work gloves (way too small for me), a chain tightening screw driver, safety goggles, and even a small paint brush to brush out wood chips. It’s cheaply made, but not horrible. When the chain loosens up, the saw chatters pretty hard so be careful to keep your hand clear of the chain. For occasional use, I’m happy with it. I noticed there are versions of this saw for Dewalt and Milwaukee batteries but they are double the price of this model. For $60 I might consider looking at something else

Perfect for women who love keeping their trees trimmed. Great for small tree trimming, not large trees! Took a few times to clear blade, but once you know what it can handle your on your way.

This is so handy to have around the house AND in the back of the Jeep.

For the cost this thing is pretty awesome! When I opened the plastic case my expectations were pretty much met. The outer body of the saw is just simple plastic and the the entire thing was lightweight to the point it felt like a child’s toy. Putting the bar and chain on was a bit of a challenge due to the lightweight aspect and the small pieces not to mention the safety arm getting in the way. However, once you get it together and put a battery in the saw and press the trigger it really gets your attention. I was pleasantly surprised at how it bit into the limb. It made very short work of the 3 inch limb. The tiny motor that it’s equipped with didn’t bog down at all unless the bar became pinched or was in a bind. It holds the chain pretty tight considering the nut is only hand tightened. The two chains it came with held its sharpness for quite awhile. It was a little difficult to sharpen due to the motor not wanting to let the chain move. All in all I was very happy with my cheap mini chain saw after using it to prune 5 peach, 2 apple, 2 Pear and one plum tree. Yes I’m very happy and would recommend this to anyone.

I like this nice light small chainsaw for trimming my numerous plants outside my house. I sent one back because it was too heavy. I am 73 years old and can’t lift and hold to trim. This one is light and I can hold it in one hand. My son says to keep it oiled and watch the chain because they slip off but I have not had that problem. The instructions to put the chain on were terrible. I had a heck of a time with that.
