I would have given 5 stars until I started reading online (after already getting this product) and saw from many sources that this type of petri dish mold test does not really indicate anything for most people. Since mold is everywhere, you will see a few spots of mold show up in these petri dishes. Of course, a lot of mold is not safe. But it seems the proper way to test for mold is hiring a professional or sending test results to a professional lab. If I had not have done this research, I would have given this product 5 stars simply for the items being of decent quality from what I could tell, with clear enough instructions. The small booklet even comes with pages of colored photos showing examples of several different types of mold so you can match your test results and have an idea of what type of mold shows up in your petri dishes.

Did I get duds? I followed directions exactly and the dishes show no changes from multiple exposures.

So I received this and I'm not sure if this is how it comes normally. The trays had 3 later of sealed plastic bags, the one containing the trays directly was wet one the inside, the trays lids were not fully sealed. Will move stars up or down depending on how it comes out, not sure where to check if it was packaged incorrectly but no other pictures look this wet.

Kit was very well packaged. Not only does it have very clear instructions and tips but it also includes useful and important information about mold. Very easy to use for testing.

Plates came vacuum sealed and safe. Package is not damaged. Comes complete set with manual and identification of organisms to compare with.

Something is growing. It’s gross, but super helps to know so we can fix it. The item comes with a book/pictures to help you identify what the growth is and where it is commonly found. Thankful for this.

Great package for up to 6 samples. Gloves, tags, swabs, and Petri dishes all included. Good value. Waited the recommended 72 hours and was shocked, I knew we had a problem but not like this!
