About this item

  • REDUCES SAG UNDER LOAD -- Ideal for occasionally hauling or towing varying loads; heavy gauge, calibrated coil spring reduces sag when loaded up to 1,200 lbs. (capacity limited by suspension, tires and transmission; see owner's manual)
  • EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING -- Tuned specifically for each application, full-displaced valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide ride consistency
  • CONSISTENT RIDE -- OE all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to handle extreme temperatures and PTFE-banded piston helps reduce friction between the piston and pressure tube to enhance responsiveness to changing road surfaces
  • LONGER SERVICE LIFE -- Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear while heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod delivers long life
  • IMPROVES PERFORMANCE -- Nitrogen gas-charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration and shock fade

Ideal for light trucks that that tow or carry varying loads, Monroe load adjusting shocks include a heavy gauge calibrated spring that adjusts to road and weight conditions to provide extra control when operating conditions get more demanding.

Work better than expected. Bought them for an 86 Pontiac wagon. Would by again if I even need shocks again.

The struts looks well made, but they do NOT fit my 1994 Cadillac DeVille, although it is listed by Amazon as fitting. They don’t resemble even slightly the fit of my front or rear struts/ shock absorber. They do seem to fit newer Devilles, perhaps 1996 and later as I’ve seen multiple YouTube videos showcasing the style I received from this listing.

Completely transformed my 72 el camino the stance looks so much better and the ride is great. I was afraid they would be too stiff but they did the job perfectly and the ride is great on pavement and dirt. Installation was annoying and tedious but that was due to the car not the shocks. They just won't fit through the hole underneath the coil because of the spring around the shock so I had to drop the control arm and put it inside the spring the hard way.

Good shocks in comparison to others. I look for Monroe when I look for suspension, usually it’s my first to third choice. I like moog too. I’m never let down and still not. These are good shocks, but they do not “adjust your load” they are simply gas shocks with a spring assist. A little misleading. But all in all good price, got here fast. Suggestion: tread the shaft below the anchor point add a nut and you can adjust spring rates. Twimc

It gave about a 1.5" lift to the vehicle and a more firm ride and better handling. I used this on my 69 Impala Convertible.

These shocks stiffened up my ride, improved cornering, and really livened up my squishy, old, Buick Roadmaster. I can even carry more stuff now because of them! I replaced brand new KYB shocks with these and am much happier with these. They did lift the body of my care up a bit, but not more than an inch or so. (My springs are still in good shape and not sagging)

Bought these for a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis front and back (different part numbers). Makes the car ride a little higheroff the ground and stops the sagging of the rear end especially if you have something heavy or a lot of passengers. I feel thatit makes the car handle better especially in turns and still gives a great ride when not loaded heavy also.I would purchase them again and recommend them to others also. There is nothing worse that seeing a great car going down theroad with the rear bumper almost hitting the ground. It won't happen when you install these. It adds about 1500 lbs. of weight carrying ability with no sagging. With these new shocks I am still getting about 28 mpg with the car and this is not freeway driving. On the freeway it will get around 30 mpg. Love the car and like these shocks.

I bought a set of these for my F150 4 x 4 over a year ago and have been very satisfied with the ride quality. So this year, I bought a set for my 1979 Trans Am. I'm not looking to carry extra weight with the car, but the extra coil spring will "renew" the original ride height and I know the ride quality will be excellent as my truck handles like a car now! Hands down the best set of shocks I've eve installed on any of my vehicles.
