I read the other reviews and thought they were just being dumb. They were not. This kit is complete trash. I put the shank in my die grinder and revved it up, and immediately bent the shank. Didn’t even touch the material yet. Have it on video too. Avoid this kit.

Rolls are sloppy and loose which makes them come apart in the ports/runners, glue all over the OD. Really very sloppy pieces, waste of money.

i have had probably 10 of these kits over the years. They are not bad pieces. The problems that i found is if you run them to hard and get the glue hot they start to come apart. This just comes from too much rpm and pressure for too long. They come with a great assortment and I always just planned on buying a kit for every set of heads that i did. I have bent a mandrel or two but usually from the collet coming loose on the die grinder and it spinning out of balance. They used to be about 30 dollars locally and were well worth it but at 45 its getting kind of borderline. I also have bought a kit from summit and really didnt like it because the rolls didnt last very long. So really in my opinion this is still the best option if you can find it affordably.as far as the rubber band thing, there is a roll of emery cloth that comes with it that is to be used with the slitted mandrel and it is held with a rubber band but obviously that needs to be removed before use. Its overall a great kit for a beginner to get everything you need short of burrs. Also a tip on intakes for final polish i like to use a drill so its a little lower speed and provides a rougher finish.

I bought this to do porting. The mandrel bent right away and the sanding rolls are held together with a rubber band?? These are complete junk.
