The V-Gard C1 Hard Hat features innovative ReflectIR Thermal Barrier technology, reducing interior temperatures by up to 20°F to alleviate heat stress for workers in sunny conditions. Enhanced with a full brim for additional shade, large vents for improved airflow, and a moisture-wicking sweat band, the C1 is designed to provide superior comfort and protection against heat.

  • V-Gard C1 Hard Hats are handmade for durability, designed to keep the inside of the helmet up to 20 degrees cooler, and classified as Type I for top impact protection.

  • They are commonly used in steel mills, welding, construction, open-pit mining, oil/gas refineries, rubber manufacturing, and steam tunnels.

  • Made of polyethylene, they come Vented (Class C) or Non-Vented (Class E) with full brim for additional shade and sun protection.

my company provides the more basic full brim msa hard hats and i wanted a nicer one vents. it's great especially with the sweatband accessory. I just with it got a little bigger for wear with a beanie or hoodie.

I think the cooling shield is more of a gimmick than a guarantee, but I do feel less heat when the sun is beating down on me. I love this hard hat and would definitely buy another should this one ever have to do its job. It’s a bit heavier than my last hardhat, but it’s manageable. It fits perfectly and is very high quality, ever surpassing the minimum build quality of my previous one.

I absolutely love the MSA V-Gard C1 Full Brim Hard Hat! It’s incredibly light, which makes it so comfortable to wear for long periods. It is lightweight, easily adjustable, and looks like it will last a long time. The top shell is a bit hard to clean. I started to keep it in a bag to prevent any more dirt from sticking to the top.
