Got this to be able to dig holes while backpacking. It is very sturdy, lightweight, and easy to use. The handle is hollow. Ruler allows to make sure the hole is wide and deep enough. The serrated edge can cut through pencil thick branches and the straight edge knife cuts paracord easily. There is a strap on the pouch so it can be attached to the outside of a backpack.

This is basically a sharpened garden trowel on steroids, haha.It's nice and lightweight, which is great for packing, but you have to be careful when packing because the tip is quite pointy and wants to stab through the carrying sheath. We actually kept the bubble wrap and put the trowel into that before placing it back into it's sheath.The trowel has a decent grip and is easy to dig with. There are 2 knife type sides, 1 smooth and 1 serrated.Overall a great little latrine digger, but be careful packing the pointy end.

This shovel is small enough for backpacking. It is very sturdy and can definitely be used for multiple things. I especially like that it comes in a pouch. I just hang the pouch on my backpack and it doesn't take up any other space inside the backpack.

bought this shovel/multitool for my backpacking trips. Weight is a big deal when you are carrying it on your back for 10+ miles a day. When I found this shovel that contains multiple functions I new it was my best options. It is sturdy yet light weight, perfect for clipping onto the outside of my bag. Having spar paracord is never a bad idea so that is just a bonus!
