it might be great for single needle machines. but on a 16 needle embroidery machine I find it is so strong it swings to other metal parts including neighboring needles.

Not sure if these help or not. They move super easily so you are constantly having to check to be sure they're still marking the correct alignment. They might be more hassle than they're worth

Love these magnets. My eyesight is not the best when changing out my Longarm needles so I use these magnets to help me align the needle properly in the shaft. The magnet is strong enough to rotate the needle eye so it lines up properly with the foot. Love love love these magnets.

These are about 1/2 inch long, I tried to make them work, but failed. Even tried to use small pliars to hold them and attach then to the needle front...I guess my fingers etc are too large to make them work.....EQ in CA

This was recommended from a lady in a quilt shop. You can see better where the hole on the needle is aligned with a good light.
