This is great to keep in your box of bits. It is a sturdy bit of metal.This also helps you add more lights to your light stand if needed.Maybe you need the light to hang over someone to give some nice edge lighting?Neewer has done it again. Great parts low prices!5*****

This is an exceptionally sturdy metal bar with a 90 bend, a threaded end, an end for a light fitting, plus a knurled rotator to tighten the arm.I have a good selection of clamps and grips so I was keen to try this item. First impression is it strong and reassuringly heavy. I immediately tried it in the hex port of a Manfrotto C clamp to see how that worked. It didn't fit at all, but it isn't designed to.So I got out a C stand with a boom arm and popped the threaded end in the boom clamp. The bar has two flats on it to enable tightening up (picture) with a knob. This worked well but would have been far more useful if there were four flat sides. As it is I managed to wreck the tread without any effort at all, certainly wasn't my intention but just missing the flat caused enough damage to deform the tread.I would have used this with the corresponding Neewer clamp system, but that is a separate purchase and as far as I can see, unavailable on Amazon.In conclusion; if you have the rest of the system then this is a very strong bar and will support any studio light.

As always from Neewer, this is a great quality, heavy duty product which does the job it's intended to.Obviously when planning a rig like this it's important to bare in mind that you've got quite a hefty cantilever effect going on... so make sure you know that you can support it fully.All threads are really well machined and no horrible burs or sharp bits left.
