This is a good, solid socket for 50 amp extension cord repair or for making custom length cords. Strong enough to handle quite a bit of knocking around with RV's or even on a job site. I also really like the finger rings. They make it very easy to get a good grip for removing the outlet/plug. Installation is about as easy as it gets for a plug like this. Caution! If you don't know how to install one of these, make sure to educate yourself with a good book about electricity basics. While hooking up a ground wire is easy and logical, getting the "hot" and "neutral" hooked up correctly is a bit more difficult and just as important for safety. So make sure you get it right if you lack electrical experience.

I got this to replace the end of an extension cord. The cord still worked, but it looked burned inside so I wanted to replace it. This one looks great and I love the fingers holes to help pull the sockets apart. I was able to change out the plugs in about 30 minutes. The quality is great and the price is awesome. I will be buying more of these to get those finger holes. The measurements provided in the instructions seem off, so I just held my wire up to the plug and marked it. I have the plug hooked up and running my grinder just fine.

This Nema female plug worked great for me as a temporary connection for a garage 220 volt heater. These work great where standard plugs won't handle the amperage. Good quality construction and seems nice and safe.

I got this (and a 6-50P) to put new ends on my welder extension cord, and it does the job pretty well. The wire clamps are a little funny , but they work, you just have to split each wire to put it in the clamp. The plug/unplug action is about 10x smoother now that both sides of the connection have been replaced. The case feels a little lightweight, but that is offset by the 'brass knuckle' loops that really help when disconnecting the cords.

This NEMA 6-50R plug overall is pretty decent and I'm happy with it. I like the finger hole design to help out with stubborn 6-50 plugs, and even if they're not stubborn, it's simply easier to hold onto. There are three screws which hold the two halves together, one of which is in the center of the plug assembly. The two screws on the bottom hold the wire retention clamp. It was a little odd, but the Intertek ETL sticker was placed on the side across both halves of the plug, which you have to take apart.I used a 10/3 cable and the retention clamp and sleeve had room to spare.I'm not a huge fan of the wire retention pins, where they want you to split the conductor in two around the tightening screw and then tighten it down vs a more traditional gate where the whole wire fits in and clamps down. But it does still work.In all it's a decent design and gets the job done, while making it easier to use the plug on a frequent basis.
