Part arrived and I had it installed by a professional mechanic. The alternator did not work. It was not producing any charge. Bought a new one from a name brand and everything then worked.This seller doesn’t have an option for me to return or refund either. Really unfortunate.

The alternator was packaged well and was delivered with care via Amazon. These replacement alternators that come from China look well made and manufactured. Time will tell if this product will last. I suspect it will be fine. I have a 2002 4Runner that I installed it into. As my son and I tried several ways of installing we came to a standstill where if we installed from the bottom via the tension bolt then swung the alternator to the top, the top bolt would not fit in as it was slightly off center. We then tried installing from the top bolt then tried the bottom tension bolt and that was off. Finally we realized that though this does fit but not exactly; you have to adjust the bottom bracket by loosening up the bracket Bolt (only loosen a few threads) and raise it upwards place bottom tension bolt into the alternator through the bracket thirdly swing the alternator upwards and insert the top bolt and finally ensure the belt is in place then 1)tighten the bottom bracket 2) tighten the front tension bolt & 3) tighten side tension bolt.

Returned a brand new alternator (different brand) from a online parts store because it had a slightly wider pulley, smoked, squealed, and didn’t even charge.This alternator’s pulley has matched OEM and charges at over 14 volts even with headlights and AC on. Took two stars off because the + post didn’t have the locking “slots” OEM had. Otherwise it’s a good part for the price. Going to be selling the vehicle so I just needed something cheap, not high-output.
