Tips: Mount the sensor vertically on a North-facing wall or a well-shaded location to avoid sunlight and rain. Direct sunlight will make temperature read high. Recommended: 6 inches below eaves or placed under deck rail is preferred. The maximum transmission range to the base station is 328 ft in open air, not including walls or floors.

Our outdoor sensor went bad and Rachel with Newentor was prompt and helpful in getting it replaced and getting us a rebate on the cost. Love the indoor/outdoor weather station and impressed with Newentor's service!

We have this sitting on our deck in a Perfect location to read. Very often it is wrong. It will be bright and sunny but show rain on clouds on our weather station, or show rain and it’s sunny and beautiful outside. We use it mostly for temperature and humidity which is often 15 degrees off either direction. We probably wouldn’t recommend this product. It does not seem to pare well with the weather station device even though it’s the one that works with it.

I did get this to work as a replacement for a water logged original Q7 remote that died.Differences:-This one has the battery opening on the back, not the front like the original Q7-It is lighter, and has a larger LCD-It does read 3degress F lower than the main Q7 unit when they are right next to each other, but the reading on this matched a second totally separate unit I have, so I think this one is right (original Q7 being in error)To get this to work, I had to remove the batteries from the Q7 main unit and disconnect power (A full power cycle). Then when it boots you have to press the button on this remote. For some reason, channel 1 on this would not work (which the original remote was set to), but channel 2 (out of 3 possible) worked just fine.

So far I love the weather station, but must confess that the instruction booklet was somewhat confusing and took a while to figure everything out. Had to go to a Youtube presentation to finally figure out the instruction booklet. But apart from that everything else is excellent and the product is working as expected and hoped.

Duel purpose buttons caused pause and instruction review but not a big deal. Unit looks good and performs well.
