I bought this device mainly to use it with my DMX lights, and it works great with freestyler and QLC+.

This is the one I prefer. I use mine on RPi3b with JMRI CMRI model railroading. Quite useful to have the GND terminal available. Some might object to having to supply the USB cable, or that the board is exposed -- but this has been reliable and problem free.
