These work ok, but only pins 2 and 3 (RX and TX) are used. They are wired as DTE. I really wish they had wired that second unused RS232 transmitter in the chip to the flow control pins to drive them active. If you connect to a device that needs to see RTS or DTR, these won't work without modification. The driver is right there, unused. All it needed was a PCB trace. Come on guys!

No markings on Maxim 232 chip. Appears to be a clone.
