Can confirm fit the 2009 Chevy Aveo 5 1.6L it was a direct replacement. I replaced the thermostat and housing two years ago when my daughter purchased the car. These are relatively cheap so keep that in mind evidently after doing some research, it seems that these thermostats go bad every two years or so. I would definitely purchase off Amazon, considering the cost of the parts automotive stores that are local. You get the same part same lifespan, but the auto parts stores charge up to six to eight times more then Amazon depending on what seller you go with. And we got a quote from two reputable automotive service mechanics and it was close to $500 to change this thing so it isn’t hard to do. I would recommend you tackling it yourself. Check up some videos very easy to do. All you need to do the job is get a E-torx 10mm socket for the special bolts that hold in thermostat housing which you can also purchase off of Amazon a ratchet for the 10mm e-torx socket and you’re good to go took me less than 20 minutes to change and top off the coolant make sure it’s orange coolant for Chevy GM. It’s up to you if you would like to torque the bolts I did for the Aveo and that particular year. It was 15 foot pounds but all you really need to do is hand tighten it. See pictures for reference

All went together very well. Easy installation and IMO easier to separate from the rest of the housing that replacing the entire housing. Only issue I had was some metal flashing inside the housing. I used a small screwdriver to knock them off then blew them out. Not a big deal, just something to double-check.
