Direct fit replacement for my 2001 Z3 2.5i and it works so far. Install was straightforward without requiring any modifications and the price was good as well. So far, no issues with noisy operation and the output power is comparable to the OEM.

The alternator on my 2001 Z3 3.0i was faulty, so I bought a new one and replaced it myself. So far, it's working perfectly. I'll update if anything changes!

I purchased a refurbish one on from another online parts store. That part did not large more than a year. This one from AMZN seems to be brand new and was half the price. Delivery as quick 2-3 days. Only time will tell, but so far it works out perfectly for my 2002 BMW 530i.

Just installed this alternator in my 2002 BMW E446 325i. It failed after five short trips, less than 100 miles total.I noticed right off the bat that it was making a lot of noise, but I thought maybe I just needed to break it in.Not so. The alternator bearings seized going up a hill and I was left with a shredded,, brand-new serpentine belt plus two hours waiting for a tow truck. The problem may be that I let the alternator sit in its original packaging for 13 months before getting around to the repair. But it was in my dry garage, and c’mon, alternators are supposed to withstand a bit of exposure. In my case it wasn’t even exposure. It was just not being used. Now, it’s too late to get my money back. So I just paid over $200 on Amazon for a Bosch alternator (the OEM brand) . I highly recommend you do the same. This unit was unfit!I’m not some Saturday mechanic fumbling around not knowing what I’m doing. I’ve been fixing my own cars for 25 years, including a good many alternator jobs.

My originally installed alternator finally gave up the ghost after 195k miles and close to 20 years of service. This replacement has worked like a charm since installing and has been putting out the required voltage since. No issues with fitting it back in other than the joys associated with where it was actually located in the BMW design. Older vehicle as noted earlier so I was more than OK with trying an aftermarket alternator to keep the car running for a few more yearsmiles at a lower out of pocket cost.

This fixed my charging issues. this was a direct fit for my 4/97 build of my 1997 BMW 528i. The alternator I pulled out was a Bosch 140amp. My Bentley manual says to pull the radiator fan and fan shroud, but this isn't necessary. unlock car, disconnect battery. Pull out the airbox, remove Power steering fluid tank bolts (leave hoses attached). I watched an online video of doing this repair and he removed the upper radiator hose from the water pump on the drivers side. this made a bit of a mess, since about a pint of fluid drained out onto the belts. I did this too, but I think if you have a fluid pump you could remove some fluid from the antifreeze reservoir first, then pull the hose. this would be cleaner. remove caps on belt tension-er and alternator bolts. both alternator bolts and the belt tension-er are 16mm, you can also use a 5/8" sae socket. remove tension from belt and slip off. remove wires from back of alternator. remove alternator bolts. pull out. install new alternator in reverse order.
