The indicator will read either green or red under normal conditions.
The green just indicates that the primary tank still has propane.
When the main tank is empty, the propane automatic switching regulator knob will turn red, reminding you to turn the knob to point to the backup tank, making it the main tank, and causing the indicator to switch back to green.
The dual-stage design can maintain constant air pressure under changing needs and conditions.
Allows empty tanks to be removed for refilling without interrupting the propane supply.
In colder temperatures, you may see the indicator gauge read some red and some green. This is because the cold outdoor temps cause the pressure inside the cylinder to decrease.

We needed a new regulator for our camper. The item was exactly what we needed. It works beautifully. Also, it arrived before we expected it to. Quick service from this company.

We live way out in the middle of nowhere and use propane to power our kitchen stove, two on-demand water heaters and various small room heaters, so we are constantly having to lug propane tanks around when one runs out. Getting this was supposed to stop the problem with running out of hot water smack dab in the middle of a shower (if you have ever had your shower go from 110F to about 65F instantaneously while you are covered with soap and it is freezing cold outside where the propane tank resides, you will understand why having an automatic changeover regulator is so enticing!) Unfortunately, it still needs to be manually switched. It does help that two tanks are already hooked together, so the run out to toggle the switch is a lot faster than getting out a wrench and completely changing over the regulator and hoses from one tank to another, but it is NOT automatic. Two stars off for that. Otherwise it works fine.
