One quarter is the light was not working. After contacting the company they immediately sent a new one free of charge. Great amount of light and strong fan. Anyone who says the fan barely sucks, this is why ... If you use the joist spanning bracket instead of mounting the bottom of the fan box flush with your ceiling there is a huge amount of Gap because of being held up and extra inch. This means that the fan will now be sucking through your attic, floor, and/or even insulation. Remove your light cover and use metal ducting tape to seal the base of the fan box to the bathroom ceiling. This will force the fan to suck air only out of the bathroom without any wasted energy.

Works amazing! No more steamy mirrors during hot showers and the noise level is very low! I replaced the old fan/light in the bathroom because it wasn’t working as well and we were getting mold. I’m confident this will help with that. I like that the light has 2 settings and gets very bright too. It’s a nice white bright light, not dull and yellow like our old on. Very happy with this!

I had professional electricians install this fan last week to replace my 20-year-old Broan (50CFM). The old fan had a flexible duct tube that vented out into the gable.Immediately after they left I wanted to test the new fan which is twice as powerful as my old one. After three minutes the shower filled the room with steam, the mirror was completely fogged over, the bathroom looked like a steam-room.I wrote an angry email to the company and got back a response:"Dear Customer,We’re so sorry for the unsatisfied purchase. We’re willing to solve the problem.① The deep corrugations of flexible ducting can easily flex into the opening and block the damper. Please use semi-rigid ducting, which is made of aluminum and has very shallow corrugations that allow you to flex it or stretch it."I called the electricians and they came back yesterday with a new solution. They used a rigid, plastic, 4" duct that they attached to the fan box and vented it straight to a new exterior gable vent with louvers that open when the fan is on and close when the fan is off. The process of correction took them about 20 minutes. After they left I turned on the hot shower and turned on the nearly silent fan. And the entire room was clear of steam. The mirror had no fog at all. The fan works perfectly. You Absolutely Must Use Rigid Ducting or Fan Will Not Work!

This fan/light is of good quality. The metal housing is a good thickness so you only need to mount on one side. I did have to go into the attic to install the housing. The lighting color selection is nice as I was able to match the light color to the other light in the bathroom. The fan motor is DC so it takes @ 3 seconds to start up but is very quiet. I bought two units and will now install the second one and would recommend this unit.

When I first installed this fan for a main level guest bathroom (with shower) I absolutely loved it. Very quiet, bright light, and nice nightlight. My previous 55 cfm unit was much louder so I figured that I got twice the suction strength with a fraction of the noise. Wrong. I was on my step ladder inches away from the fan with a tissue that didn't budge as I held it close to the vent. Oh, and the fan motor is definitely running (you can lower the cover/light and easily see it). After the tissue test, I gave it another test. I blew vape smoke towards the fan and it just hung in the air close to the ceiling with no noticeable movement. I bought the fan mainly for the light feature and I'm totally satisfied with that but I was hoping to get at least the 55 cfm that my old clunker unit provided. I feel that it's not even close to 55 cfm. For that reason, I wouldn't recommend this unit. If the light starts acting up, like I've read in many of the negative reviews, I'll switch it out for a Panasonic. Until then, since the guest bathroom shower is very rarely used, I'll just live with it and enjoy the lighting, which is great so far.UPDATE: OREiN customer service reached out to me to offer a full refund but since I liked the light feature I suggested a half refund. I thought I was being magnanimous but then they came back with a message detailing all of the problems that may have caused the weak ventilation - and all were basically user problems. One solution they had was to open a window when showering. These suggestions were so insulting that I've since reduced the rating to one star because of the bad combination of product and service. Good luck with OREiN. I'm through with them.

I'm updating my review slightly, giving it one more star - as the manufacturer contacted me and was receptive to my suggestions. This means a lot to me - that complaints are heard and not ignored. My original review said the following "The instructions ask you to mount the bracket so the bottom is flush with the bottom of the joist. However, the ceiling sheet rock is not always just beneath the joist. As a result, when I installed the light I had a very difficult time getting the spring clips to engage. Lots of cursing happened. Once I got it on, I decided I wanted to change the color of the light - as it was too blue, but there was no way for me to get the light off again without breaking something. A lot more cursing happened. Recommendation to the manufacturer - the instructions should say to mount the bracket so the bottom is X inches from the painted part of the ceiling. This would've solved one frustration point for me. Also - why not make the light color switch more accessible rather than the inner recesses of the system. What a stupid design. I do like the 2.0 sonos, as it is enough noise to hide some not so flattering noises when going to the bathroom, but not so loud as to be annoying. I also feel the night light is too bright. So do not buy this for the night light feature - unless you want plenty of light when going to the bathroom at night." I also want to add that my wife feels the light is too bright for our small bathroom. I think it is a good level brightness - but just wanted to comment that it certainly isn't too dim :)
