Easy install. Just had to use a hole saw to punch a hole in my unventilated bathroom to the outside. Very quiet. But airflow is not that powerful.

We have our cat litter boxes in a closet under the stairs. Lucky for us, the back wall of that stair closet is shared by an external closet to our backyard. We wanted a better way to ventilate so got this to install through the wall (and will just keep the exterior closet open) and I liked that this has the plug running down the front, rather than the back so I won't have to figure that out. I have never cut holes in my own walls before but was able to do so easily by tracing the circle and then using a drill bit and hand saw. I didn't realize this, but make sure to wear gloves and an N95 mask when you start pulling the wall insulation out. Now that the fan is in, it's working really well. It has a very low hum just like any bathroom exhaust fan but it's pretty quiet/unobtrusive. It didn't quite fully extend OUT through the closet hole but it was only maybe 1/2" short so I purchased a vent cover with the same size opening and that part slides into the exterior wall bridging the connection.

I installed this through the a bathroom wall, directly outside. I wired it into a timer switch.I agree it’s odd the cord comes from top, however you can take off the louvers and flip it, so it will come from the bottom. Also, the cord is designed to hang down, but there is a punch out so you can run it into the wall one you cut the cord. If you do this, the cover plate will have to be attached from the bottom, which is not the design, but it works fine. If you’re planning on hardwiring this and venting it outside through the roof/wall, it’s not difficult, but also not a beginner project. It is not whisper quiet, you’ll absolutely hear it running, but it’s also not overbearing. It does a very good job of circulating the air for my application. I’m glad I bought it.

Before ordering you should be aware the plug comes out from the bottom front, not the back as the image shows, my plan was to mount it in the wall and have the plug drop down inside the wall to be wired in, had to dismantle, move the wire, drill a hold through the back for a new wire route, also to add, the mounting run in the image shows as being threaded, so you can screw it right to the wall or window for mounting it tight, it is not threaded it just slides on so you'll need something else for mounting it tight. The fan itself is pretty quiet and works well.

My bathroom has no exhaust. It’s an old building, and I like to take long, hot showers. An open window can only do so much. The walls are plaster and I started to have peeling, cracking paint. I got a dehumidifier to help, and it was very “well something is better than nothing”. This exhaust fan was finally delivered and, after only one use, I noticed a world of difference. It isn’t obtrusive. It fits in my window great. It works so well and it isn’t obnoxious. I’m so glad I got it. It’s a life saver and going to save me money in the long run as well.
