I have a Greenland paddle and I have been trying to find something that will reduce dripping. This is PERFECT. It has Velcro and allows for the diameter of the circle to be selected based on where you want it on the paddle. So grateful to have these. I have used them all summer and wouldn't paddle without them.

These ended up putting more water in my kayak then when not having them. In all fairness I was using them from a fishing kayak. Where I would be sitting up much higher then say in a sit inside. This typically leads to a higher paddling angle. Which may have contributed to them bring more water into the kayak then they kept out.

Borrowed a kayak from a friend, the paddle did not have splash rings and I was going to a very cold lake, so thought I'd try these out. I paddled without them on the same paddle about a week before, got pretty wet. After 'installing' these (really easy), the difference was remarkable, reduced me getting splashed by about 80% at least. Good, simple and cheap solution that actually works. No instructions come with, but my wife figured them out pretty quickly.

These are cheap, but they work surprisingly well. I had been getting soaked by water running off my kayak paddle when I'd change my stroke from side to side. This is fine in the summer, but not so much fun during colder weather. This product was cheap enough, that I bought a couple of sets on a whim. One set for me, and one for my neighbor, who usually goes along with me on trips on the river. They go on very easy, and we couldn't wait to try them out.We were pleasantly surprised to find out during an early January trip that these little gizmos did keep us dry as long as we used a little care with our paddling. Nothing is going to work 100% in this environment, but I'd say these are a good 90% or better at stopping runoff from falling in your lap as you're paddling. My neighbor and I are both super happy to have these splash guards installed on our kayak paddles, and we'd both highly recommend them to others who want to stay relatively dry when paddling a kayak.

These are the only guards I've found to put on my one piece hand made paddles. I had three sets in use and just received two more. The earlier models have a Made in USA tag on the inside, the new ones don't. The earlier ones are made of a shinier, more robust neoprene rubber. The new ones are much flimsier. I won't be ordering any more of these. We see this same story over and over. Price stays the same but the quality drops.UPDATE: Premier has re-formulated the neoprene and is now back to the original quality. They have always been made in the USA. Their customer service response to my complaint was excellent.

I was *very* skeptical when these little pieces of foam and velcro arrived in a smallish, flat envelope. But good things really do come in small packages. We attached these to my paddle at the lake side, and, making a 'yeah, we'll see' face, off I paddled. And paddled. And paddled. I cruised myself all around the lake, admiring wildlife and snapping pictures as I went, and all the while, I stayed dry! My seat stayed dry, my arms stayed dry, and, most amazing of all, my hands stayed dry! Over an hour on the lake, and no prune fingers. Now, I'm a novice, no white water kayaking for me. But hey, if you're on white water, you're gonna get wet, by definition. I recommend these silly things. They work!

These are pretty effective. They are neoprene panels that you wrap around the pole and velcro strap on. Depending on how deep you dip your paddle, you may want the splash guards a little farther from the paddle than that shown in the photo to keep them out of the water. Note that the doughnuts shown in the picture do not come with the guards, you should already have those. My experience is that both the doughnuts and guards are prone to slipping around when wet, so I suggest a tie wrap either before the doughnut, or around the base of the splash guard. All in all, when properly positioned, they are very effective in keeping most of the water from the paddling out of my lap and the boat. I'll always have a pair with me.

Unlike shown in the picture you are going to want to have these about 5-8 inches off the edge of your paddles, because if these guards go under the water then water on the hands side of the guards will still drip down. After i found the perfect spot on the paddle they did seem to stay in place fairly well for me, but after reading previous reviews i used some zip strips to zip them into place. Just plan on playing with them for 10 min to find the best spot for them on your paddle with your paddling technique.
