After building myself a new desktop I was met with the conundrum of getting internet connection to my newly constructed computer. The biggest hurdle that would need to be overcome is that the computer is completely on the opposite side of a 2000 sq ft house with 3 walls in between. So after some investigation and review reading I had settled on giving this Panda wireless USB adapter a shot, and boy was I impressed. The adapter has given me perfect signal with no drop offs or connection losses and has fully taken advantage of my high speed internet connection. Furthermore, the item was entirely affordable costing under $10 and thankfully saving me much more money when compared to some of Panda's competitors. The item is also plug-and-play so you shouldn't need to install drivers in order to use it.There are a few complaints I have on the items psychical build construction.First, the antenna couldn't be plugged in the back of my computer with the antenna facing up, it either had to face down or straight out, if I used my back USB slots I would be sacrificing either the computer case being close to the wall or getting a poorer signal by facing the antenna down. I was able to remedy this by using the USB slots on the front of my computer that were flipped differently than on the back of my computer, there it was the opposite, the only two angles were the antenna facing upwards or out. This could just be the construction design of my motherboard and not the adapter unit. However, would it have been really hard to make this item so the antenna could be positioned at all three angles?Second, the item itself doesn't feel like it would hold the test of time if handled frequently (psychically handled that is). Obviously if you're like me and will probably never have a need to move it then this isn't much of an issue. Though if you're the person who need to carry this all over the place for an on-the-go WiFi adapter, then the durability of the item should be something to consider.Pros:Extremely affordableGets the job done in even the most demanding environmentsPlug and play, didn't need to run any software or disks to use itCons:Durability could be a problemAntenna angling is limitedUltimately, the item is worth it, especially at the price point they have set and it gets the job done without sacrificing performance quality. If you're looking for a WiFi adapter option you can't go wrong with this item.

I usually use 5Ghz AC adapters, but for my laptop I just needed something reasonably small but powerful with an adjustable antenna to help in lower signal situations. It has a Wireless N adapter built in but it's not great. This one is perfect, and the price is fantastic.Literally as soon as I plugged it in, it started working. I installed the driver anyway, but it seems like you might not need to in Windows 10.One of the things I liked best about this is that the physical USB plug is slim, and doesn't interfere with adjacent USB ports. Most of the other WiFi adapters (especially AC) take up a lot of space and often make the adjacent ports inaccessible.I have a few technical/setup recommendations to make the signal even better in Windows 10:1) Make sure your router is set to 40Mhz Channel Width if you want to get the full speed of the adapter. Previously my 2.4 Ghz channel was set to 20Mhs width (the default - usually good for older devices), and I was getting a link speed of 65-72Mbps, but when I switched it to 40Mhz, the speed increased to 135-150Mbps, which is the advertised max speed. (Link speed is the speed of the connection between your WiFi adapter and the router, not to be confused with download speed.) The connection is stable and solid.2) In your Windows 10 settings for the adapter make a few minor tweaks to the default settings. In the bottom right of your Windows 10 screen, where you see the symbol for WiFi, right-click on it and select "Open Network and Sharing Center". Then on the left, click on "Change Adapter Settings". Find your WiFi adapter and right-click, then select "Properties". Then click "Configure".On the far right tab, click on "Power Management" and uncheck the box for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Then click on the "Advanced" tab. Set "Multimedia/Gaming Environment" to "Enable", and "Selective Suspend" to "Disable". These will give you a bit more solid, steady signal. After making these tweaks it is noticeably faster, and I'm pleased with the adapter.

This adapter is marketed it as compatible with a Raspberry Pi. And it does "work" out of the box. The Debian distribution for the Raspberry Pi comes with the necessary drivers to make the device work, although I had to write a script to make the device work at boot. That isn't too bad, if you want to play in the linux playground, you will have to get dirty. The only thing preventing this device from getting 5 stars, is that this adapter keeps setting itself to a slower mode, so I do not get the 150Mbps link (note that I did not say transfer) speed. I believe that this is a driver issue, and could probably be fixed by recompiling the driver from the included source code, but that is not out of box...TL;DR. Works great with solid connectivity and decent range, but some configuration is needed, and the 150Mbps speed is not reached.
