The songs are not the common Christmas songs in general and the book is written with actual notes rather than the numbers that are on the drum itself. Just didn't work out well for our purpose.

The advertising is slightly deceptive. The CD for this product has to be downloaded from the internet and is not an actual disk that comes with the books.

I bought "Jumbie Jam Island Tunes for Steel Drum" book with CD. No CD was included. Book gave me a web address with Instructions to "Click here to download companion CD"Link brought me to page forcing me to open a Drop Box account. I opened an account and was brought to a folder called "Island Tunes" I opened the folder and saw a list of songs. When I try to play or download a song I get a message saying"mp3 files can't be previewed from an archive file"I have no idea what that means. I've been at my computer fiddling with this for over an hour.I'm very disappointed. I didn't buy steel drums and a songbook so I could work on my computer :(

I gave my wife a pan drum for Christmas as she played in a group one summer at a music festival for the first time and loves the instrument. I got her a book with tunes we play in our ukulele group that are fairly easy and familiar. She was playing today and said. "I almost have these down can you get me more books?

Nice music on CD. You must know how to read music to play along with this book. There are no letters printed under the notes.

A great book for starting to play the Jumbie Jam steel drum. Many sellers listing on Amazon have vastly over priced this item. Purchase directly from Panyard and save big. They are located in the US and have an internet presence.

Maybe I will learn to play my Steel Drum with this! It even has my husband interested, he noticed if he had a drumb we could play together in melody. Hope he follows through, I think that would be a lot of fun!!!!!PatK .

Enjoy playing the songs. It has separate pages for playing the melody or harmony. You can play along with the cd, tho I usually play the melody alone.

Wish it had more songs, but the ones it does have are great - classics. Silent Night sounds remarkably beautiful when played on the steel drums! It's a beautiful song anyway, but in just learning it on the drums, it sounds enchanting and heart breaking. We Three Kings sounds really cool, too. I'm even thinking about playing this for my church come Christmas time! There is an accompanying CD that not only teaches you how to play (and when to hit the notes - you play along with it, hitting the drums when the music on the CD does), but there's a version on the CD that allows you to play solo while the "band" backs you up. Really happy with this purchase!
