After the first windy day, even while umbrella was closed, it toppled over and the base cracked.Would not recommend this item.

I like the fact the base is very heavy and hold the umbrella in place. Price was reasonable.

THis base is just alright. It may work best with a table instead of stationary. We ended up having to use extra weight to this stand to keep the umbrella from blowing over.
