I really like the automatic feeding timer; it helps me out when traveling so I don’t have to ask someone to come over to feed my fish. Good quality product that keeps my fish on their set feeding time. great value too.

The 2 big negatives that I found with this feeder were the difficulty of programming and the tank attachment method. The instructions and setup are hard and not intuitive. You will probably have to make constant reference to the instructions in order to remember how to modify your programming. Once you program, be sure to test this out before you place it on your tank and make sure that you are getting the desired feeding results! The feeder can be attached via suction cups (located at the base) or via a mount. The mount is not really large enough for a framed rim tank. It would probably work better for a rimless tank. The suction cups didn't really work for me either, since I couldn't get the feeding opening far enough out over the water if. I simply placed the feeder on the edge of my glass top, but was unable to "suction down" the suction cups.I liked that I can adjust the portions of how much I want to feed with this fish feeder. The feeder has a large wheel with different compartments. Simply add the amount of fish food to each compartment, and it will drop into the tank at the pre-programed time interval when the wheel turns. The only downfall to this system is that you are limited by the number of compartments in the wheel, which is 16. If you feed once a day, this will last you 16 days. If you feed more often, it will last less.

The Pawfly Automatic Fish Feeder is like most remote timer feeders: convenient but not a scientific instrument - there's going to be a little variance in the system. If you're a freshwater aquarium feeder, this is a reliable and accurate timed feeder, providing portioned feedings using its innovative 15-compartment design. I do like that it's easy to look at and see what's been distributed and what hasn't – a significant improvement over drum feeders.Initial setup and programming aren't the most user-friendly - but if you've been in the hobby for any reasonable length of time - that's par for the course. The pictures are worthless - they should invest in a YouTube setup video.I have mixed reef saltwater aquariums, and the feeder is pretty good with my seaweed extreme pellets, but not useful for any slurry feeding. I also think the company should offer more flexibility in the mounting options given the wide range of tank designs - this works well on my rimless tanks, but the fitting wouldn't sit well on my larger tanks with flanged top plates. That said, the unit is solid and survived a drop during installation without any damage or issues. The company could work to make the initial setup more straight forward as others have noted. I would like an option to plug it into a Apex Neptune system so that I could monitor from anywhere, but I did see another reviewer who mentioned using smart plugs as a backup option.

We're headed out of town for a couple of days and I was concerned about our fish eating. I've used analog-based feeders from big box stores in the past, and I've found them to be unreliable. So far, this feeder has exceeded my expectations. It's a great value, set up quickly and is more than big enough to hold the 2-days worth of feed I need it to.I usually feed twice per day, and this functional feeder makes that very easy to do unattended. I have the filters on smart switches and I turn them off when I feed so that the surface eaters are able to eat without chasing down their food. Since this feeder has a digital clock built in to it, I can schedule the filters to turn off a minute or so before the feeder kicks in, further enhancing it's autonomy.Awesome device, and well thought-out design.

The Pawfly Automatic Fish Feeder delivers what it promises: easy, portion-controlled feeding for your fish while you’re away. I picked it up for a recent long weekend trip and after testing it for a few days beforehand, I felt confident leaving my aquarium unattended.Setup is fairly straightforward once you figure it out, but the programming interface and manual could be more intuitive. Plan to spend a little time deciphering the buttons and timing options. Thankfully, once it’s programmed, it works reliably.I really like the compartmentalized design—you fill up to 15 slots with your choice of pellet or powdered food, and it rotates on schedule to expose one compartment at a time. This is a big plus over drum-style feeders if you want consistent, pre-measured portions and don't want to worry about overfeeding. It also means you can visually verify what was fed and what’s left.A few comments about this feeder:- It doesn’t handle flakes well. I had better results using pellets.- The clamp mount won’t fit tanks with a rim or lip, so I had to get creative placing it.- There’s a slight delay when pressing buttons in manual mode, so don’t assume it's broken.Battery-powered convenience (3 AA, not included) makes it portable and reliable, and the LCD keeps you updated on power and timing.Overall, this is a great option for vacations or busy weeks, especially if you’re already feeding pellets. Just take a little time to program it carefully and run it a few days in advance to make certain that your programming works as you expected.
