These are the only pencils that my sister and I use. They are a good size and gripiness for fingers with arthritis. I have each size of lead 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9, but typically prefer 0.7 (medium). The click to advance lead functions well for many years and the eraser is fabulous.

This is the perfect pencil, especially for crossword, Ken-Ken, and sudoku puzzles. Just the right lead hardness and eraser.

OK, so you will not find a better mechanical pencil unless you are buying a metal one. These function very well, and have a couple of choices of lead size, and a very functional eraser. I have used them from a number of years. They used to cost about $2.50 each approximately, so now are approx $4.00 but I still buy them although when you think about it in comparison to a car, that would mean a $25,000 car is now &40,000, which is a huge increase in price in a few short years. The thing that I found disappointing about this last purchase is the first batch of four pencils arrived with NO leads inside, and not even a starter lead!!!!! So you need your own leads to start you off. So WTF i sent them back for a exchange, which is barely worth my time, but it is the principle that counts, so I get a new pack just now, and they each have a starter lead, and only ONE reserve in each of the barrels. The barrel used to be full of spare leads all ready to go and for cheaper, so I just see this as a downgrade that is more expensive. Really Pentel, is this your business plan? Otherwise an excellent pencil.

I've gone from pen to pencil for life; my handwriting has improved significantly. I did not realize I was so sloppy! No more expensive whiteout tape that twists and runs out and then does not allow me to re-write over it or ruins ballpoints. I use it for accounting and journaling; I keep one in most books, easy to erase on fine paper like my Bible. I've even had to buy .7 lead refills & will have to look into erasers. The only minor inconvenience is that the eraser tends to retract during prolonged use. Minor in the overall benefit..

Took a long time to get these from Amazon. Finally got them. The twist top eraser is a nice feature. The pencil has a nice pen like rubber grip and is easy to write with. Price seems a bit on the high side but they are good quality.
