I purchased this specifically to cut some 3/4-inch PVC I am installing tucked away under a house. It won't even open to 3/4 inches. It's definitely not as advertised. It's not a bad cutter for some 1/2-inch, it's just not going to do what I intended it for.

Takes more time than a cutoff blade but leaves a better edge for putting grips on.

It may go without saying, but this cuts through steel shafts really well. Nice clean cuts.You can cut graphite with this, you have to go much slower and it will not be as clean of a cut. It won't compromise the integrity of the shaft, unless you try to tighten too much too fast, take it slow. It won't be cosmetically as nice of a cut, but it will work.

My husband received a driver from a friend of his--a much taller friend! He really liked the club but couldn't swing it as he would like because the shaft was a few inches too long. He wanted to shorten the shaft.I saw this Yoxojv Golf Club Shaft Cutter and asked if he wanted to give it a try. The shaft cutter arrived with no instructions whatsoever. My husband watched a YouTube video for a "lesson." The cutter attaches to the shaft (with the rubber grip removed). The cutter must manually rotate around the shaft to cut it.The first photo is the before. The second shows the cut shaft (the gloves do NOT come with the cutter but were helpful with turning the cutter). The cutter did its job with no problem.

If you build clubs for fun, this is a must-have in your golf club tool kit. Makes cutting steel shafts very easy with minimal issues in worrying about whether or not you made a straight cut. Simply mark your club, place the blade, tighten down, and start turning and tightening. This has done well with a set of clubs I just build. I caution that you should NOT use this for graphite shafts.

Works perfect - simply the best and fastest way to trim a golf club shaft. I have only tried it on steel, but I imagine it would work well on graphite too.

Full Disclosure: I received this product at no cost for evaluation through Amazon Vine program.This type of shaft cutter, as opposed to using a hacksaw type blade, results in a nice clean cut.The idea is that you put the tool on the shaft with the blade centered on the line you want to cut. Tighten the screw, and then twist it around the shaft. Tighten again, and twist again. You do that until it cuts through. If done correctly, you end up with a smooth blade cut all around the shaft, rather than a sawn edge with usually a bit left over at the end which has to be filed off. This makes it easier to replace the grip.This tool is nice and heavy duty, and the blade seems quite sharp, so it works well.

This is a well designed and effective shaft cutter: It's all metal construction, has a sharp rotating blade that cuts through chromed steel well and has opposing rotating bearings that support the cutting action nicely.You need to take your time and gradually increase the pressure while spinning the tool around the shaft.My 2nd time using them, I was only trying to take 6mm off and it got a tad off track since the cut wasn't fully supported. But I still managed to manually support the tool, keeping the blade side-on and finished the cut.This is an essential tool for resizing metal clubs and a recommended buy @ ~$10 price point.
