I cut this in rows 3 feet wide & the length of the fabric to cover my row of Asparagus ferns planted along the driveway. I secured it with plant staples. When I took it off this weekend all of the ferns were dead on top. I used another brand on my pots of asparagus ferns on my front porch. When I took that cover off the Asparfern was still green. Same result on my other plants in the back yard. They didnโt fare very well. Maybe I should have doubled or tripled the layers?

Nice and long piece of fabric. I doubled it over my bushes. It is so thin I was afraid it would let the bushes freeze. Weโll have to wait and see if it workedโ

My plants survived a few cold fronts with this on so I don't have any complaints. It was easy to assemble and place over the plants. There's nothing insanely difficult about it. I did not find any of my plants dead or affected by the cold with this on, but then again, I live in Texas so the coldest it got was in the low 20s for 2-3 days...

I lost all of my foxtail ferns and hibiscus during a two day freeze even though they were covered completely. Maybe I didnโt do something right, but I had a better outcome when I made heavy duty plastic and old bedsheetsโฆ

A detailed test of a product like this would take a very long time (ideally, a full year) but here's what I've found so far:This screen is easy to cut and pretty lightweight, and it seems to be turning my annual Dianthus plants into perennials by keeping them from freezing at night. Mind you, I don't live in a terribly cold climate (Oregon) and we haven't hit the coldest time of year yet, but these have been on my plants for almost a month and they're still healthy. So it's good in winter. And it also should be good in summer. The photo shows that the mesh is pretty gauzy, so plenty of sunlight can get through. When the height of summer hits I'm going to rig more of it as a sunshade over my Daphne bush, which gets too much afternoon sun. There's enough screen to protect lots of small plants, several sizable bushes, or a 16' x 20' plot of garden. For small plants and seedlings, you'll want to put some stakes into the ground to keep it from weighing them down.A neat product for all-season gardeners!

Mid December, and we had an 80 degree day, with night time temps dropping to the low 50s, typing Southern California inland valley weather. I have seedings in large planters that soak up a lot of heat during the day, so I am not over concerned with cold weather getting to my tiny plants that are native to the area I live in. What I am concerned about is large grasshoppers and other insects eating the tender little seedlings... It's already happened to some of my sage, and I needed to get some protection for my Narrow Leaf Milkweed, Lemonade Berry Bush and other "locals."This garden fabric is a great way to wrap my pots and planters and protect the seedlings until they are large enough to survive on their own. The 33'x10' is a nice size that I have been cutting planter "wraps" from - and the color helps absorb the warmth during the day and provide the protection I was looking for. I have tried plastic in the past and it gets brittle and starts to fall apart - not very environmentally friendly.I really like this garden cloth and I am recommending it to my plant friends that have sensitive young plants.
