There are a lot of situations where a thermostat with controlled outlet are useful. Two in particular worth mentioning are customized re-circulation to save water and make hot water ready for remote appliances and water pipe freeze prevention. In both cases the thermostat can sense the temperature and activate the outlet to power on a re-circulation pump or a heater. In either cases, using this inexpensive thermostat and additional widely available equipment are much more cost effective than specially designed systems. This thermostat is of very good quality and easy to use.
