The parts that grab the battery lugs are out of alignment and line up too high to mate with the battery.

I wound up keeping the original battery setup in our Mercedes zetros power wheels because I had just purchased a brand new oem battery until our neighbor mentioned this awesome ryobi retrofit. I have ryobi garden tools galore and have about 6 spare batteries along w the 3 slot speed charger so this was a no brainer upgrade for my sons power wheels. Super easy install, in fact all I did was disconnect the leads from the oem battery unit and electric taped the leads from this retrofit, snapped in the 40v/4amp Ryobi battery(ies) and boom, literally double the speed. Battery and retrofit fit perfectly under the seat cover. The speed upgrade is so significant, I almost required our 5 year old to wear a helmet at first from the torque and highest achieved speed, but he’s a pretty good driver. The doubled speed only made him an even better driver. For context, the new LOW speed setting was once the fastest speed setting w the original battery.

Right out of the box, my battery would not slide fully into this adapter. After examination I discovered that the clips in the adapter were mounted too low for the battery case. The battery would not lock into place and there was no power output.After disassembling the adapter and trimming the mounting posts down 3mm I was able to get the adapter to slide on the battery and lock into place as intended. I suggest the manufacturer redesign the black portion of their adapter.
