There's really not much to say: this thing is solid (the listing says the weight is 7lbs, but it's easily over 10lbs), and it provides excellent clamping force with smooth operation. My plates were parallel out of the box, but the vise has adjustment screws to fine tune the plates if needed. The base holes are standard and will probably fit most drill presses or bases, but check the measurements and orientation of the holes on your machine to make sure it'll fit the way you need it to. Overall, it's a great deal in the price range and provides the stability and functionality of more expensive options.

Great heavy low profile vice. Achored well to my drill press and seems to grip parts well without loosening up.

The vice is really heavy for its size and screams quality. The parts work smoothly, and it tightens up well against the parts being worked on. There is a groove cut in the jaws allowing you to grab cylindrical objects as well.It seems like it is set up to fit a number of different mounts on machines or mount on your workbench. This is a great itsm and meets or exceeds expectations for a small vice.

I would dearly love to give this vise five stars, because it appears to be a high-quality product that should serve a valuable purpose. The vise is clearly heavy-duty, weighing in at about thirteen pounds per mfr spec. It's well-machined and operates smoothly, with solid metal jaws that close evenly. The stationary jaw has a V-groove for holding round stock securely, at least up to about 2 inches OD. Unfortunately, I had "fit" problems when I mounted it on my 12-inch Craftsman benchtop drill press. My drill press has a square table approximately nine inches on a side. There is a pair of 5/8-inch slots 6-3/8 inches OC for mounting accessories. Because of the spacing of the slots, it is impossible to mount the vise with mounting bolts in all four corners; only with two on one side or one end regardless of the orientation of the vise, This is because the slots on the vise are less than five inches OC; too narrow to bolt into both slots on the table. Crosswise, you *might* be able to bolt the vise down with undersized bolts, perhaps 1/4-inch diameter. See first image below. Also, because of the dimensions of the table as described, when the vise is mounted crosswise on my table the fixed jaw cannot be closer than (approximately) 1-3/16 inches from the center of the drill bit. See second image below.Because of these limitations, the vise can only be used in limited situations with my drill press. Clearly, your mileage will vary depending on the size of your drill press and the dimensions and design of the table. My advice is to determine in advance whether the mounting slots will line up with your existing equipment using the measured drawing provided by the vendor. As I said, I would have loved to give this well-made product five stars but I can't. While I already have a bench vise, I can still use this in some situations; especially for round stock.

This vice has a big footprint and is heavy enough to help it stay put without bolting it down. I'm not a machinist and have two drill presses I use for simple DIY work maintaining the house, rebuilding small engines, and keeping all the yard equipment running. I was looking for another drill press vice with a little lower profile. I have an older, taller design Craftsman vice with a tilt adjustment and I like the shorter profile of this vice. I also like the design differences in the jaws and the longer length adjustment. It’s weight, larger footprint and lower height from my other vice will help me with my work and be a nice addition. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this vice and it will be convenient having it for my other drill press and also for use on my workbench providing a good second set of hands when needed. I recommend this, it’s a well designed general purpose vice and a good value.

This is a heavy piece of kit for your drill press. I have a homemade drill press table for my 14" drill press and mounted this to a scrap plywood board that I drilled holes to mount to my "T" track slots. This worked great and did not take any time at all to do. I have been wanting a drill press vise for a long time and could not justify the cost. This is not a tool that I will use often as I do not do a lot of drilling in metal. having said that I have already used it twice since I received it and it has worked perfectly. The main threaded rod is an acme thread that operates very smoothly. The jaws have an almost perfectly balanced contact point, so both jaw faces mate well to each other. This makes holding small items easier to hold straight. This sucker is heavy and was coated with an oil to keep it rust free during shipping. I cleaned most of it off the mating surfaces of the jaws and the adjustment handle. I added a little wheel bearing grease to the main thread and it works great. It did come with mounting hardware, but I used my own with a tool less quick release. Speaking of quick release it does not have that feature and that is a bummer.Bottom line.. This is a well-made and medium to heavy duty drill press vice that should be perfect for the DIYer and handyman. I can definitely recommend this product.....

I do work with V-slot aluminum profiles and rods, and wanted a vise to hold them while I am cutting or drilling a hole in them. This is a very high-quality and heavy Vise. With a greater than 4-inch opening, it is useful for most of the DIY work you want to do with it.It comes with everything you would need to mount this on your workbench. The vise itself and 4 pieces of nuts and bolts. The pocket holes in the vise are adjustable, and you can easily unscrew the bolts and adjust the vise per your preference. The lead screw is very smooth while opening and closing the jaws and does not have any friction, which I never saw in an inexpensive vise. The heavy weight of the vise gives extra sturdiness while drilling as well as while tapping threads in the profiles.Overall, I am pretty impressed with the quality and usefulness of the vise.
