I bought this to cut some stiff, 5mm-thick self-stick felt pads. I saw this would cut 30 sheets of paper, which is about 5mm thick, so I ordered this with fingers crossed.When it got here, I lined up a pad and lowered the blade. It cut through the pad like butter---square and straight---exactly what I was hoping for.The only drawback for me is that the metric guidelines don't run all the way top to bottom, so you're stuck with just the half-inch guidelines, which is okay but not great if you're measuring in millimeters. Seems like they could figure out a way to provide both.Also the width of what you're cutting can only be measured down to 1.5 inches, so if you need to cut something more narrow than that, you're out of luck.Lastly, you really do need to use the clamp properly, because otherwise whatever you're cutting can shift during cutting and ruin things.Beyond those minor quibbles it's pretty great. It's very heavy with rubber feet so it stays put. The cutter blade locks down after each cut for safety, and then releases easily for the next cut with a pull on the conveniently-positioned trigger release. It does a great job and feels like it will last a lifetime.

The Stakcut Paper Trimmer exceeded my expectations! I would purchase again. It is so sharp you have to be very careful when using.
