Step 1: Turn off all valves to ensure a safe setup.
Step 2: Attach the adapter's QCC-1 connection to the main propane tank valve and secure it tightly. Then, position your 5-40 lb propane tank upside down.
Step 3: Connect the 1"-20 female throwaway cylinder thread to the empty 16 oz propane fuel cylinder.
Step 4: Open the valve on the 5-40 lb propane tank slowly to allow gas transfer.
Step 5: Turn on the on-off control valve, allowing gas to flow until the small tank is filled.

Is this product suitable for connecting a one-pound propane bottle to a gas grill?
No, this product is a one-way valve meant for transferring propane from a larger tank to a 1 lb bottle. You’ll need a different adapter to connect a one-pound bottle directly to a grill.
How to know when propane is full:
- Weigh the propane tank before filling and after filling for a 1-pound difference.
- The sound will fade when filled. It takes around 1 minute.
- By default, the pointer of the tank gauge rests at the red 'REFILL' area. After filling, the pointer rotates clockwise to the green 'GAS' area, indicating sufficient gas.
