I guess mine is defective and quite frankly unsafe. I put the unit together as it was simple task and hooked it up to my tank. Everything worked fine except when you push the lever for a blast of propane. The pin sticks and you have to force it down by hand. If you turn the gas off it retracts fully, but with gas pressure it will not return unless you forcibly push it down. Like that it is slightly smaller than my old unit and the hose is longer and the fact the hook up tube is no wrench. Hose is flexible and long and the overall unit is good. I do not like the fact the striker is so far down either, wish it was near the handle you turn the gas on not near the head.

Cool little rig! This is my 4th flame weeder in as many years, and it is probably my favorite.It's a perfect length for my 6' frame to operate without having to bend over. I do wish the line were not so long, as I carry my tank on my back, so I have to be careful to not trip over or hang up the hose, but that would be a desirable feature for someone who doesn't use a backpack like me.Although I don't use the "turbo blast", I did notice that the valve sticks. Otherwise, an excellent product!

I ordered this primarily to kill weeds in our gravel driveway in a more environmentally friendly manner than using chemical weed killers, but since it's still not growing season yet, I tried it out on our icy driveway instead. It's lightweight, easy to ignite and convenient to use. The long hose makes it easy to tackle a large area without having to move the LP tank.

This Blow Torch Flame Thrower is super easy to set up and use. The instructions are simplified and straightforward. This is such a convenient and useful product! I got this to help me keep areas of my farm clean from poison ivy/oak, underbrush, clear weeds from raised beds, etc. The flame has a very easy to control handle, so it doesn't get out of hand.It hooked up easily to my propane tank, and the 10ft hose gave me freedom of range before having to move the tank location. I'll mostly be using this in spring and fall before the dog days of summer dry season hits....don't want any fire to get out of control. It's all quality made materials...stainless steel and brass, and comes with a generous heavy duty nylon carrying case with a handle, and the tools for assembly and disassembly. Excellent quality product and super value.

The burner works ok. It burned off the weeds and grass I wanted to be rid of, but it took way longer than I anticipated. That is where any wishful convenience ends. The hose that comes with the burner will only fit a propane tank with the typical 20lb tank valve. The hose is not really long enough to set a 20lb tank down, and burn for any length of time before having to pick up the tank and move it again. It is more convenient (even with a full tank, 40lbs) to carry the tank with you, which really is not convenient at all.This thing is not what you would typically call portable. I purchased a 1lb tank regulator with a 5’ hose to make it truly portable, but no go. The burner handle has a proprietary fitting with a left-hand thread that will only fit their hose. The only way to make this work with a 1lb tank is to purchase a 20lb to 1lb converter/adapter to go between the hose and 1lb tank.I thought about possibly using this in the winter to melt the ice off my steps, but no way am I going to try lugging 40lbs worth of tank and propane around on an icy surface. That is nothing short of an invitation for a ride in an ambulance.The burner works ok, but would be more usable if fitted for use with 1lb propane tanks.*** UPDATE ***So I did purchase a 20lb to 1lb converter/adapter for this burner to make it truly portable. I had previously marked off an area around my house for a mulch bed, and was out burning a trim line around the edge to clear back the grass. The torch had been working great, and the light-weight portability was extremely welcome. I had been burning for around 30min and exhausted my first 1lb tank. I replaced it and started burning again. After a moment, suddenly the torch started burning wide open like the "turbo-valve" had been fully depressed. I had flames shooting out the burner 2-3' in length. The "turbo-valve" was in-effective at shutting off the burner. Nor did the adjustable "control valve" do anything. I laid the burner down, backed away and disconnected the gas bottle. I checked the operation of the valves, and all appeared normal. I reconnected the tank, relit the burner, and once more began burning. Again, suddenly the burner went to a wide open uncontrollable burn. I again backed off and removed the tank ending the burn.I have no idea what caused the burner to act this way. I had been gently finessing the "turbo valve" to control the burn intensity the whole time I was using it. I do not know if from burning for nearly 30min continuously this somehow affected the valve, and I have no idea what caused the uncontrollable burn rate. I no longer trust using this burner, and will dispose of it. I still think the concept makes it is a handy tool, but I will look for a different one.

Easy to connect to propane bottle and easy to use! Makes quick work of weeds poking through cracks in concrete or around landscaping. Highly recommend!
