Took less than 5 minutes on a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. Used a cargo bar I had picked up awhile back at HF for $15 to make the small adjustments and then used the #30 Torx driver (also HF) to remove the two old bolts and install the piston arm. Yes, HF, because I look for low priced quality items to DIY. Speaking of quality, I purchased similar ones from this seller for hood pistons on my Hyundai. So yep, I trust it.With the van door open all the way, an adjustment was needed to lift the door up about an inch to get the bolt to set perfectly in it's hole. The bar allows for 1/4" adjustments. No fear of damaging the door hinges, they are designed to handle over extension.Cargo bar has been used for 20+ different projects around the house and never once used for it's intended purpose of cargo in a bed of a truck. So pick up one from any location and make things easier on yourself.

Pistons fit perfectly and correct the problem (liftgate wouldnt stay open and would fall closed). Just know your stock pistons will have clips holding them to the ball studs screwed into vehicle body. These replacements come with new ball studs. So you will have ro remove your old ones. Not a big deal just screw them out with a 13mm socket and ratchet. New ones will require a torx bit, however, to install. Took me maybe 10 minutes. Have an assistant hold up the liftgate for you while you remove and install.

These lifts were a perfect fit for my 2006 Dodge Caravan. They took minutes, seriously, to install. One thing, once installed, I expected them to work as good as the original, not better.They were a little tight to get down, but now, simply release the handle and the lift gate literally springs open. I mean, it lifts open like shot out of a cannon. I could not be happier with this purchase!!!!

The rear hatch lift struts on my van fit perfect ! I had to reuse a couple washers from the struts I removed, but that was no problem. I saved a lot of money using Amazon . Thank you Amazon team .

Fit my Dodge Grand Caravan 2005 perfectlyI didn’t realize how HEAVY those back doors are on these minivans until I did this job.Now as soon as I pop the latch the rear door is lifted by these nitrogen cylinders skyward with ease and you better get your face out of the way or you’ll get a chipped tooth lol.And here I thought I was a genius using my big stick to prop it up. Why didn’t I do this long ago(?). The old ones still supported it somewhat but if that door comes down on you full force without the aid of these lifting cylinders whether old and used or NONE at all while your working on it, you’ve just turned your vehicle into a mini hearseNow that’s a pre-paid funeral with cup holders.STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS

Longer then original by 7.293 mm makes it a little difficult to install one at a time . ok if you remove both old ones then you have a chance . Have a strong helper on hand to hold hatch ok
