The Maya bike trailer is an improvement on the BoB trailer, except for mounting on the bike. It is slightly smaller than Bob. That said, you do need this skewer. Don't bother with the Factory wingnuts for $26. Drive your massive Detroit vehicle to the farthest hardware store, buy half a dozen wingnuts, then go to Starbucks and order a Mega Vente triple Frap w/ whip/2 cherries extra espresso & extra chocolate. You will still be money ahead.

This was bought to replace the old style QR that came with the trailer. On a recent tour, this QR lever popped out of the housing , leaving me with no way of securing my trailer or my back tire. End of Tour! Had to get my wife to drive to pick me up.

I am using this product to connect an "aosom" branded single wheel trailer I bought a few years ago to a new Cannondale Touring 1 bicycle. The QR skewer fits fine. The internal cam mechanism works very well. The attachment points for a Maya trailer work very well in my application. I am using a stainless steel washer along with a M10 x 1 nut on each side. I am looking for nylon insert lock nuts as I think they would work even better than a standard nut. The manufacturer sells wing nuts with nylon inserts. If you buy this product, be sure to view the short instructional video on the Maya Cycle site. Overall, I think this is a good product even if a little overpriced.

This wuick release is the upgrade, purchased separetly, for the Maya bike trailer. Its a vast improvement! Made of quality steel.

MUCH easier than trying to figure out the system you had. I don't know why you don't include the new QR in your packaging, but it is a must have!
