I like the quality of these adapters and the quick-connects are great for having access to the R-134 service ports. I have to mention that there are no on/off valves at these fittings so you might have somerefrigerant escape during connect/disconnect.

Now, granted, I don't know how this all works from a legal standpoint in terms of using different type of freon in systems that it was not intended for (environmentally I mean), but functionally it's great to have the option to utilize a conventional AC machine instead of having to purchase a $10000 R1234yf machine. Most shops can't afford that and there are not enough cars out there to justify that investment.
