I purchased the rafter mount with support brace and paid extra for expedited shipping to have this in time to have for my step son's birthday. I did receive the mount and support brace in time, but was missing some hardware. I was able to install the rafter mount with the necessary lag bolts, hex bolts, nuts, and washers, but when it came to installing the support brace, that's where problems began. I initially received two support braces for some reason, but there were no short hex bolts, washers or nuts to be able to connect one half of the support brace to the other half. Also missing were two additional long hex bolts, two nuts and four washers for the support brace to mount to the rafter. I reached out to the seller and they advised they would send the missing hardware and a return shipping label for the extra brace I received. After six days, I asked when these parts would arrive, and I received a response that they would be going out that day. After another six days, I still had not received anything. I used Amazon messaging and indicated that their solution did not resolve my problem, and I received a response with a UPS tracking number. I looked up the tracking number and it had been created that day. Twelve days it took for the seller to send out parts that were missing on an order that I paid expedited shipping for. I finally received what I hoped would be what I was missing 3 days later. I did receive two long hex bolts, two nuts, and four washers that could be used to mount the support brace to a rafter, but I also received four additional lag bolts and two additional washers which were not needed nor asked for. None of what was received could be used to secure one half of the support brace to the other half, which is where my images come in. I ended up going to the hardware store before the parts I requested arrived out of frustration. I am glad that I did because obviously the seller does not know what hardware to send when you order the rafter mount with the support brace. I purchased two short hex bolts, two matching nuts, and four washers to be able to connect the support brace pieces together.The product itself is great and my step son loves using the bag. We love how the mount absorbs the movement of the bag. The seller however needs to figure their act out. They should be able to supply correct hardware for everything they send out, rather than just sending out a bunch of unneeded lag bolts. They never did send a return label for the extra support brace I received, so I guess that is my payment for the frustration?

Works very well. I would have given it five stars, but I found the bushings included were not sized to fit the job. I added new ones from the hardware store to make sure that nothing rested on the bolt threads (the new ones are on either side of the one that came with the kit. As you can see, the larger outside diameter also holds my 'beaner in the center. The 'beaner rests on the kit bushing and can be checked and replaced if the threads begin to wear into it). A simple design flaw, but one that could be catastrophic if those threads cut into whatever you are using to hold the bag.Pre-drill your holes and install is pretty straight forward. My bag is 80 lbs and I am using a simple 300 lb Velcro strap and carabiner to connect the bag to the PRO mount.As for dampening the impact, I think it works very well. My wife says she knows when I am hitting the bag, but it is more about the noise of me hitting it. It is nothing like the old chain set-up my Dad used to have wrapped around a support beam in our basement growing up- the whole house used to shake! I can actually see the mount shock working as it absorbs impact. It is rock solid. If not for the extra trip to the hardware store for the bushings, it would be a full five star. Very happy with it.

Decided on this mount after lots of research and reading reviews. It's perfect for our hanging bag and was a great purchase. Definitely helps with noise and vibration. Easy install. The only issue I have is that when we installed it, one of the bolt heads cracked off as I was tightened it down. Just be careful of this and you should have no issues.

The Rafter Mount with Brace is a great item for heavy bag use. The installation is not complicated and the item is very durable.
