Package arrived in good order earlier that originally promised. Instructions were adequate and once the I decided how to configure the installation within the garage, everything fell in place. Now that season is winding down, have placed the Kayaks in their respective rack, but if we get a respectable a Indian Summer, they will be easy to retrieve.

These work really well. I have my kayaks hung over my 1930 Ford. That's how much confidence I have in the strength of these. The price was great, they save a lot of room in the garage. It is also very easy to raise The Kayaks and lower them back down.

The instructions are lacking and it hangs to low to work. Missed return window because didn’t try to install until spring.

Not bad for the price. Installed fairly easy. The rope is pretty cheap; I'll have to replace one soon. For one of our kayaks, I could not use the included straps - they kept slipping off the end of the kayak as I raised it (I probably set the pullies too wide). As a work around, I simply attached the hooks to the kayak's bow and stern carrying handles. Worked fairly well.

Pros: Not that hard to install, seems to fit multiple size kayaks. Cons: Instructions are not clear, had to look up how to run the robe in the pulleys. Really need a 12-15 ceiling to get kayaks out of the way. bolts are b-grade one of the heads snapped because it overheated during install, suggest taking your time and let the bolt cool about halfway in and you should be fine.

I put up both lifts this morning and didn't have any major problems. The lifts appear to be good quality materials and I agree with others that the rope is not great. I had a piece of heavier braided cord that I used on one boat and used the factory rope on the other. The instructions are as bad as everyone says they are but it is not hard to figure out if you are the least bit mechanically minded, My rafters ran the wrong direction so I needed to place the brackets across the 2 x 4 instead of along the 2 x 4. The mounting bracket and holes were to wide for the board so I ended up drilling an extra hole in each mounting bracket. I have a 9' ceiling and the boats hang down about 31 inches giving me clearance of about 6' 5" which is fine for me at 5' 10". The function as advertised and work great. I would buy these again in a second.

I used a stud finder and a laser level to align the pulleys on a 10' finished garage ceiling. I did NOT attach a 2" x 4" on the underside of the ceiling , I felt that I would end up painting the 2" x 4" white to match the ceiling and I really didn't want to take the time to prime and paint if it wasn't necessary (and it wasn't). A YouTube video (See "Dragon Kayak Hoist") was helpful, especially with information to attach the pulleys a distance of 1/3 the length of the kayak and showing how to feed the rope through the system. The wide straps were far too long for my kayak - I used the shorter, narrower tie-down straps that were provided. I found that adding a bungee cord between the two straps made it much easier to hoist and keep the kayak from trying to slip out of the straps.

good quality units. they were fairly easy to install, though the instructions are lacking. The only thing I don't like is the length of the straps. Even with my canoe, which is fairly wide, they hang down way too far. I have hte hardware above the 12' rafters and, at 6'3", I can still barely walk under the canoe, and I hit my head if I don't duck under the kayak (also fairly wide for a kayak). Other than that, these work great. Eventually my wife will sew a loop in to shorten the straps and they will be perfect.
