I purchased 3 of these for my cut flowers. Two connected right away, and worked great. The third was having connectivity issues, but I reached out to RAINPOINT and they made it really easy and sent me a replacement. Really happy with my meter now- it’s great to know the temperature and moisture level of my raised beds.

After having this hooked up to my Rainpoint system for a few months, I honestly think this was a bit of a waste. Sure it's cool to see a soil moisture % in the app, but it hardly ever changed values even after watering, so using it as an input for autonomous watering was out of the question for me. I still think Rainpoint makes some great products, but this accessory seems superfluous to me.

Great unit to keep track of ground moisture. Especially helpful when your traveling to assure plants are getting water.

The door to the battery compartment is screwed with lock screws. It’s eyeglass size screws but they are locked so tight I can not get them unscrewed even with two people one holding the screwdriver and unit while I used a set of pliers to grab and turn the screws, the screwdriver had the metal notched grip arm and I could not get them to budge. So no batteries no way to use. Customer service is 9-5 m-f while I am at work. This company was awful when I called needing help with the timer not holding Wi-Fi connection 2 feet from the hub. Buy another Brand.
