Given the conditions this product is used in it really is not fit for purpose. Raymarine should know better only bought this as it was cheaper than buying a new plotter.

This is kind of a lousy design, the ears that are intended to provide friction to prevent the sender from rising up are pretty fragile, but having a couple of spares means that the unit will still function when the mount does break (and it will)

Be very careful that your transducer does not come in contact with ANYTHING that could place any pressure on the main support bracket that is mounted to your transom. The weakest area of this bracket is circular ends where the mounting bolt connects the transducer to the mounting bracket. But it is probably much better the transom mount breaks before the Transducer.
