On a standard width music stand, the lights WILL cover the entire stand. But the issues are this: for me personally, it's not remotely bright enough ... there is too much glare when positioned to try to get enough light ... the clip is REALLY weak and would barely stay on my steel stand since it has so little clamping power and since the power switch is on the lamp head itself, the flimsy clamp can come loose and the lamp fall, if you're not careful ... the extra setting for a different color temperature is essentially useless (it makes it even darker) ... the lighting isn't spread evenly across the music. I do like the way the flexible shaft between the battery pack and the light itself is covered in a rubberized tube making it clean looking. Could I use it, if it was all that was available at a gig? Yes ... but it wouldn't be anything I'd buy ...

My piano is in a somewhat dark corner, and this light is exactly what I needed! The padded clamp attaches to the piano music stand and does not scratch or mar the finish of the stand. The flexible neck adjusts in every direction, to exactly the right spot for me to see my score, and the power button also adjusts the quality of the light output. (There are three options: choice 1, choice 2, and then choice 3 combines the first two options. I prefer that one.) The light is cordless and charges with a USB-C cable (included), but it arrived charged and I haven’t yet needed to recharge it. It’s perfect for my piano, but I could also see it working well for an embroidery stand or cross stitch stand (although I have not tried that myself.) Definitely recommended!

First of all the ad is incorrect because it says there are 5 levels of dimming and, since I thought it was too dim to start with, I spent quite a bit of time trying to find the hidden way to adjust the brightness. But that exists only if you put it in amber mode and, even then, there are only 3 levels (4 if you count "off".)So I would have given this 3 stars bc of false advertising, but a couple of things raised it to 4. First, the battery life seems quite good, we've used it about 2 weeks now, off and on without charging it. Probably only 20-30 mins a day, so not really taxing it, but I'm impressed with that aspect.Second, it's easy to position with its gooseneck between the clamp and light. The clamp lays fairly flat behind a music book and the light output spans an open book pretty well. It has a rotating thing in the clamp that I'm not clear on the purpose of... it makes the flat user-side end of the clamp rotate 90°, creating a T shape at the end... why? They could improve their instructions if they would say what that feature is for.The lack of light levels in the 3 non-amber light modes is somewhat mitigated by the perception that the different light colors create. I perceive the coolest (whitest) light as brighter than the warmer (yellower) light, so I always use the whitest light setting and that gets it to a brightness that seems good enough. It doesn't come with a charger, just a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, which is a negative for me since I've upgraded almost all my chargers and cables to USB-C. I wish manufacturers would just commit to USB-C on both ends so we can move on from yesteryear. Most likely I'll end up tossing their cable since I have plenty of USB-C cables and chargers that can charge this light.Another suggestion is that it remember what light color and (if it had it) brightness level I selected the last time I used it. I think the price of this unit would support including those features because it seems a a tad pricey without it. But it's portability and slim design make it easy to use, so, 4 stars.

As a professional musician, I find it interesting to me that the packaging for this light labels it as a “book light,” because it’s bright enough to be a music stand light. It is bright for music on my regular Manhasset stand, with some darkness and fade out on the outer edges of the stand deck. The light is not as wide as the product photo in the Amazon ad.I like its ability to offer a warm light color or a more bluish light color. I find blue light more tiring in an orchestra pit, where it’s on for hours. It’s good this light also has a battery indicator of three small blue lights, to let you know when you need to recharge the battery. The blue lights are not annoyingly bright, but are easily visible to the musician. I’m surprised by how nice the warm light is for this price. It’s too bad this product doesn’t have the light shield on the rear side of the light that is required to shield the audience or other musicians in front of you from glare. That’s a standard feature on better stand lights. A light shield is a small black plastic rear section that extends down horizontally so the light is blocked from the audience. With this light, the lit up part is flush with the surrounding plastic. If you’re playing without an audience or colleagues, it’s not a problem for yourself. The on/off button could be accidentally pressed on during transport, as it’s flush to the top lid, so be careful, although I have less trouble with this than another small light I have, which I have to carry outside of my gear bag or the raised button will certainly be bumped on.This light stays securely clipped onto my Manhasset stands; the big clip is excellent. If your plans only include using this light at home, then it could be a very good light for you. There’s some trade off between portability and the width of lighting here, so you might need two for wide scores. If you want to use this in a dark setting where the audience is facing you, then another light with a rear shield would be better. The ability to choose warmer or bluer light colors at this price is an excellent feature.I’ve only tested this on a Manhasset stand, on which the clip was very secure and still easy to move. If you have a flimsy folding stand, or a really thick/curled top edged stand, clip on lights sometimes can’t be clipped on. It will clip on my acoustic piano music holder; I’m not sure about digital piano music stands, but I think it would work on most. The light might not be wide enough or be darker on the outer registers for a piano, however. It’s not completely bright the full width of my Manhasset stand deck. This is a good light for the right circumstances.
