Got this because of the positive ratings.Opened the package, went to slide it in to my receiver and it won't go.Corners are square and my receiver (Drawtite) is slightly rounded.I'll try hitting it with an angle grinder to cut the corners just a bit.

My 1 1/4 inch receiver had a small weld drop inside the receiver that acted as a stop. I could not inset this adapter far enough to insert the pin. Reese product support said that this was done occasionally to be sure to comply with the capacity of the hitch and recommended cutting a small bit off the the 1 1/4" end of the adapter so the pin hole was accessible. I did that and the adapter now fits. BE ADVISED - the 1 1/4 inch end of the adapter is solid metal and I used my air tool cutting wheel to cut off about 3/4" from the end. Even with the air tool, that took a while and I used up one cutting wheel. To make that cut with a hacksaw would take a loooong time. If you decide to do the cut, MEASURE CAREFULLY!!! And be patient. Kudos to Reese product support - they gave me the confidence to do this.
