We are traveling with our tortoise. This was a perfect for the setup.

I purchased the REPTI ZOO UVB Bulb with high hopes for my bearded dragon’s health, especially considering its adjustable UVB output for desert reptiles. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations.Pros:• The bulb arrived in good condition and was easy to install.• The switch to adjust UVB output was a convenient feature.Cons:• Despite the adjustable UVB setting, the output was insufficient to simulate the intense UVB exposure found in a natural desert habitat.• After using this bulb, my bearded dragon exhibited signs of UVB deficiency, such as lethargy and lack of appetite.• The bulb’s performance did not meet the essential health needs of desert reptiles. In comparison, I later invested in a 160W self-ballasted Mercury Vapor UVB lamp from Petco, which provides both heat and UVB output. This setup has significantly improved my bearded dragon’s health and activity levels. While the REPTI ZOO UVB Bulb may be suitable for rainforest habitat needs, it did not meet the requirements for desert reptiles. Given its lack of performance, I cannot recommend it for desert species.

This light Buld is a perfect match to when it gets too hot when you don’t need a 5T to 10 T switch back-and-forth it is aggravating at times but honestly, you don’t really have to switch

The lamp gives off good light and when checked with a Sola meter Uvb is present. Is ideal for a smaller cage of for a close-up backing spot in conjunction with a heat bulb.

I am still personally not at a point where I trust the LED bulbs for full desert UVB. I know that it will eventually get there (this already happened before with coral reef tanks and LEDs) but for now, I am using it on tropical level, and I love it. It gives off UVB (registers on a card) and my gecko isn't in need of heavy UVB (gargoyle) so I'm not concerned. The color coming off of this is great. Perfect for photos. This is a good light, but a little pricey for an LED bulb. Other than that, I like it!

I've used CFL bulbs for ages as my go-to UV lighting source for both tropical (Pacman frog) and desert (Westen Box Turtle) terrariums. It's nice to see LED technology finally catching up in an affordable way. This particular light is a double-hitter with a switch that allows you to go from Tropical (5.0) to Desert (10.0) intensity without needing different bulbs. I tested it out in both of my double light hood arrangements, and it fit nicely alongside the ceramic emitter (desert) and my red night light (tropical) setups. It gives off a nice white overall light that's subtly different visually between the 5.0 and 10.0 ranges. It had no problem illuminating either habitat, with the tropical terrarium being the larger of the two at 34" in length. Where it becomes obviously different is in the UV intensity, and this matched up when I used my UV tester card under both settings. It uses the same power (5W) regardless of the UV level, and has the advantage of putting out very little heat while doing it. It also works great with my automated mechanical timer that switches between day/night lighting. Since it's LED, the UV intensity shouldn't wane over time like it does with CFL bulbs, but only time will tell if that's actually the case. If it holds up, it will be a game changer in money saved, as I typically need to replace my CFL bulbs every 3 months or so on average.

Well I certainly did not pay attention to details as I was just thinking a heat bulb. lol This is definitely more than a heat bulb - This is a Light bulb and a very amazing bulb? When I opened it I had to run right then and plug it up to see if you could get any light out of that funny looking thing -but - Yep - plenty of light , but not just your average light . There is a small switch that you can change the properties from desert animals like dragons to tropical animals like frogs! And yes both of them work perfectly. The bulb is very attractive to look at. I could not help but be amazed at the technology that went into this product.
