Not bad for a low end crimper. Contacts align well with the crimping die but since there is no ratchet you need to use your judgement to know if you applied enough pressure to set the contacts. I guess that's why they include the cable tester.

I’m genuinely impressed by this kit. The crimper is very heavy, feels like a real tool. The plug boots fit nice and snugly. The cable tester works as designed. No instructions; there’s a safety lock on the crimper, but other than that there’s nothing to figure out. I do wish they had thrown in a wiring diagram so I don’t have to reference my phone, but that’s a minor thing.

That's a well-built set for repairing my network set at home. Crimper is smooth, and I get all I want for this kit. Even it includes one more network cable surprisingly. Will buy one more if need in the future.

I was new to installing ethernet rj45 fittings on ethernet cable but this kit makes it pretty easy. Its actually got more tools than you need to get the job done but im sure they will come in handy. The fittings that it comes with arent passthrough fittings but i ordered passthrough fittings and you can use this product on them as well. Its a little less expensive than the tool for passthrough fittings also. If you use these on passthrough fittings simply get your wires in order by color then run them through the fitting clip your wires off evenly with a pair of cutters (which are in the kit) then move your fitting where the wires are at the end of the fitting and crimp it with the crimp tool. Hook up the tester with the transmitter on one end and the receiver to the other end of the cable and make sure the receiver lights up in order from 1-8 and your good. The transmitter has a fast and slow setting also that you can switch easily. Great kit especially for the price.

So this whole kit worked great for me and helped out a lot except for the connectors. I was new to this and didn't think any thing about it but do your self a huge favor and buy the pass through connectors instead there cheap and will save you a head ache when a wire doesn't stay secure in place when crimping so you have to cut off and start over. The tools is great built great nice and solid and the little tester is super easy to use and super handy. The tool does great at its job as far as crimping and accuracy its just the non pass through cheap connecters that really give you a rough time.

This is my first tool to make RJ45 CAT6 cable. At the beginning, I don't have the knowledge how to make 1GB CAT6 cable. I just use T-568B pin out to make the cable. I don't have the luck to reach 1GB, I tested with my network, it's only 96MB.... Then I did some research and find out the twist need remain as short as possible for the connector. Then I cut all the 100Mb bad connector and redo them again! After I tested with my router, it shows 1GB connection, but I only got 306MB from optimum, which is the highest speed of my plan. I am really happy with this tool set.
