About this item

  • Coping Sled For Router Table: If you're building cope-and-stick doors and drawer fronts, our new rail coping wood sled will be an indispensable helpmate. The Rockler rail coping jig has taller round handles that allow a firm, comfortable grip from any angle of approach.
  • Smooth-Running Sled: With its smooth-sliding phenolic base, and sturdy toggle clamp holding your stock firmly against the router fence, your rails will travel unwaveringly past the cutter for the cleanest, squarest cuts you can imagine.
  • Keeps Your Hands Safe: Particularly with drawer fronts, which sometimes use very narrow rails, the rail guide coping sled prevents parts from dipping in too deep and keeps your hands safely out of harm's way.
  • Prevent End grain Blowout: A sacrificial block can be attached to the fence to prevent end grain blowout, while an abrasive strip prevents the workpiece from wandering.
  • What’s Included? Our router table woodworking kit includes a Sled Base, Fixed Fence, Adjustable Fence, Lever Clamp, Sacrificial Piece, Front Handle, Rear Handle, (2) 1'' Round Knob, 4-Star Knob, (2) Large Washers, (4) Small Washers, (2) Spacers, 5/16''-18 TPI x 1'' T-Slot Bolt, 5/16''-18 TPI x 1-1 ⁄2'' T-Slot Bolt, (3) 5/16''-18 TPI x 2-1 ⁄2'' T-Slot Bolt, (4) Cap Nut, (4) 1-3 ⁄4'' Mounting Screws, (2) #8 x 1-3 ⁄4'' Wood Screws, Abrasive Strip, Manual

Put it together, feels solid, worked well the one time I used it. Unfortunately too small for quite a bit of what I do, so be sure to check the measurements (maximum workpiece size: 5” wide x 1 1/4” high).

Big improvement over cutting stiles hand held. Always struggled with wood being pulled from my hand during cut. Doesn't happen now.

Hmm. A decent jig, but you have to figure up how much to raise the piece because this holds it above the table, not on it. But it does the job. I wishbi would have bought the better one. Sometimes it's better to get the best you can. Why go halfway?

I made my daughter new shaker style kitchen cabinet doors (all but a lazy Susan door). I did the rail tongues on the router just holding the piece. It didn't feel safe. The router gouged a few pieces, grabbed the piece and slung it across the garage and the ends weren't even.Fast forward 6 months, I got around to the lazy Susan door and got this router sled. The experience was night and day. Cuts were straight with no tear out and much safer. This sled is a must have for routing end joints.

I considered different products before choosing this one. Other, cheaper products had a composite base, but the Rockler product has a plastic base. I believe this to be better, so I spent the extra dollars for this. I am happy with the result

While assembling this item I would have benefited from a third arm and very small hands. The instructions leave too much to the imagination and incomplete. I did figure it out and it does work well
