This hub is great. while it only has a few ports the main selling point is the M.2 slot. I was able to consolidate all my backups that were on two drives previously to 1 with the 4TB M.2 I placed in this hub. I would highly recommend this hub for anyone wanting to add storage with little effort and gain some extra USB ports.

Yeah changed my review cuz now this thing powers down in the middle of playing a game which i have the game stored on the drive attached to this. its set to never power down in settings but still does. i even have it cooled to prevent overheating. but yeah still shuts itself off which seems to be an ongoing theme with these devices. why cant i just find one that isnt a money grab and actually does what its supposed to do? poor quality at least it lasted longer than the rest. a whole month.

This has a outer metal caseing while the part that holds the NVME is make of plastic, so it basically offers no passive cooling for the SSD. I ended up just putting a thermal pad and little copper shim between the drive and case. So it has a little 0.5mm thermal pad on the SSD NAND chips, then the 0.25mm copper shim, and another smaller thermal pad to touch the inner wall of the case.

Just one problem - the button to open the case is not accurately built and thus simply press that button could not open the case. I have to hold the button and force it apart simultaneously.However, as long as able to open the case, there is no need any equipment to install the SDD into the case, good design. And it works! About 400mbps for USB type A. Also can use for PS5.

I was considering buying a new external USB SSD, then I saw this. These m.2 cards are super affordable compared to a whole external SSD. Slap one of these on, and boom, you can throw it in a backpack or your pocket and it wont break. 10/10

nice light weight. no tools needed. just press the release button and slide the case open. pop in a m.2 drive and clip the retainer in. slide the case closed. it takes either an M-Key or a B+M Key drive. it comes with two cables. one c to USB-3.x and a c to c cable. I just plugged it into the C port and now I have a super fast drive, (drive is not included with the case) that I can move from my desktop to my laptop or tablet

I have had many NVMe SSD enclosures over the last two years, and while they all perform about the same, I get about 500 mb/s over USB 3 and 1000 mb/s over USB-C, the thing that makes this enclosure great is installation or swapping drives. You literally pull the orange ribbon handle, push one button inside and insert your NVMe SSD, and slide the case closed. Their is also a blue blinking activity light, and both a USB to USB-C and C-C high quality thick cable included. My only suggestions to improve the product would be to have the cables a little longer, they are real short, but that might be a plus if you are using it with a laptop. Also, the case opens too easily, when you pull the orange ribbon it just opens. It appears there is a silver circular button that should lock it in tight, but this is hit or miss and it needs to be tighter and more consistent. None of this is a deal breaker and the price is right. Recommended.
