Excellent quality. Terrific sound. Adds some great sounds to the cajon. I can copy a lifted hi-hat sound or just hit it for the closed hi-hat sound for basic beats. Or, get all crazy with it for some fun salsa fills.

Maravilloso!...Se amplían las posibilidades para enriquecer toda la gama de frecuencias altas del cajón, se ajusta perfecto y es muy estable para la ejecución!

Best addition to my cajon setup in some time. I already had a saddle with velcro, so this cabasa sticks firmly directly to it. It did come with a velcro-covered circle of plastic that could be permanently attached if needed. A little pricey but worth it.

Yes it is expensive but is a top quality and beautifuly made Cabasa that I would buy again without a second thought. Attaches to the Cajon via LARGE velcro adhesive disc that is the same size as the round shape.... It's been on now about three months and probably at least ten hours of use and shows no sighn of lossening! Also, i was easily able to unscrew it to remove two of the ten chromed strings of beads, to add a little room and life (just my preference). I LOVE THIS CABASA!

Much better than the snares sound that came with my Schlagwerk kit - I even tried three different positions, but they still just sounded like kind of obnoxious 'noise.' The cabasa instead of the snares is a bit better, but now I usually play with them off, as they, too, end up mostly just as 'noise,' as it vibrates when you hit the cajon, and you just can't get to it all that well on the side of the cajon. The wooden tones available on the cajon are enough by themselves for that sort of 'tribal' sound, and complement congas and djembes very well. I'm thinking of building a handheld base piece to be able to bolt this to for a more dedicated cabasa sound. I'm actually surprised it didn't come with a pre-made handle to use as an option. It's a nice cabasa by itself, and would make it more versatile.

If you're looking for something to add an extra dimension to your Cajon playing, this item is definitely worth a look. You can tap the cabasa for a high-pitched sound not entirely unlike a hihat - but you can also swirl the beads around the drum on which they're held, allowing more expression. It's fun practicing with the cabasa mounted on the side on your cajon, gradually finding techniques to unlock the different sounds the cabasa can make - and then integrating them into your playing style.I've mounted my cabasa on the right-hand side of my cajon. Some adjustment was needed to my sitting position, as the cabasa makes the cajon a few centimetres wider at the point where my right knee would usually rest. When not needed, the cabasa can be removed, since it's just mounted using some fairly strong velcro.Al in all, if you're looking for something to spice up you cajon playing, this cabasa is a worthy upgrade. I can also recommend the excellent Schlagwerk Cajon Pedal - but at the time of writing this product was not listed on Amazon.
