The lock is solid. Feels solid when you lock and unlock it. Some cheaper single cylinder ones feel light and cheap when you lock or unlock using either the key or when turning the knob. Also, on the cheaper ones, when you turn the knob to the lock position, there's like a bounce reaction and you need to double check the knob stays in the locked 3 o clock position. This one stays in place without any bounce/springy feedback.

Replaced an old Schlage unit. The instructions don’t say too much about positioning the unit when assembling the tumbler block. In installed incorrectly you can’t remove the key. Unit has to be disassembled and repositioned. ( not hard, but an extra step). Found the remedy, of course, on YouTube.

This is the second time I have been asked by Amazon to rate a purchase on an undefined dimension. For that matter, why ask about the thickness of a lock? Anyway, the lock is just fine: attractive, easy to install, and compliant with the color required by the homeowner's association rule that required me to replace its predecessor.

I am updating my original review. When I originally installed this lock it worked fine, but then the key wouldn't come out one day unless the door was locked. It would not remove if the deadbolt if unlocked.Anyways, it turns out when I had a painting contractor here doing some work they removed the dead bolt and reinstalled the thing incorrectly. Oddly, it's difficult to tell if it is installed wrong visually, but when I took it apart I realized what had happened. I just had no idea anyone had removed the lock at all.The lock seems to work fine, it's decent quality, but leaves a little to be desired. Not bad for the price though.Original review:I have to assume I got a defective unit although this issue didn't really present itself until after my return period. Simply put, I can't remove the key from this unit when the door is locked.....kind of defeats the purpose. Will be buying a new one of a different brand.
