I chose this to replace my failed OEM twin mini because I thought it would look nicer on my cuddy, even though the Db is about the same. I didn't want to be ridiculous with an outsized horn, either. Soundwise, I can't tell the difference and it does look nice. My problem was the amperage draw. The OEM horn rated 6 amps over 18 gauge wire via a 10 amp fuse while this is spec'd at 7 amps. So although I didn't expect an issue all I got was an "errr". With a direct hot-wire test to the battery the horn worked fine. After lots of troubleshooting, checking for corroded wiring, loose connections, bad fuse connections, and a new switch I gave up, ripped off the upholstery, and ran a new marine grade 12 gauge circuit. I don't have access to an ammeter, but can't think a single amp more of draw would necessitate such a major project. Bottom line, if you are doing a one-for-one replacement you'll likely be fine. If not, I suggest you check your circuit first and verify it'll handle an upgrade to a 9 or 10 amps draw.
